Can you over-inoculate?
    #14450796 - 05/14/11 11:45 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

I ask because when I was inoculating, something happened to sort of "clog up" the needle. It would still inject with a bit of pressure though, but during one jar it broke free and I pumped like a full CC into just the one hole.

9 days later, that one jar I did that to is WAY ahead of my other jars in terms of mycelium spread.

So if I wanted to pump 4 CCs into each half pint in the future, would that be ok?

You can run the risk of over saturating your substrate

I usually do 5 inoculations (*) per jar, 4 in the sides of the jar and 1 in the center. That speeds up the colonization process, at least it works for me :-)

I also tried to do 10 inoculations per jar (hey, it's free!), but I didn't noticed any significant improvement.

(*) from a spore syringe or from a liquid culture.

Didn't realize the strain made a difference.

B+ and Thai Koh Samui. Using PF Tek.

:ifyoucanawe: the name on the SPORE SYRINGE does not make a difference

it being a LIQUID CULTURE syringe could make a difference.

but to answer your question 4CCS of liquid is unlikely to mess up a BRF cake

and it would have zero affect on a grain jar.
