EMPTY petri dishes can be sterilized in the oven if you wrap them into tinfoil. But petri dishes with agar in it, NO.

What I do is cleaning them very well (with soap) and then soak them in alcohol for a few minutes, no PC or any kind of heat used.
It's not an academic method but it works for me

These would work better for you...especially not havin a pc... I use these 3 section petri dishes....they are cheap....sterile....and disposable....each dish also is essentially 3 dishes spreading them pretty far....
I just dont see the glass ones working with this hobby...where...when you get going could easily run through 20-25 dishes in a single month...and sometimes in a week when working with multiple strains....not to mention the comedy that ensues trying to lift stacks of these in a glove box with alcohol soaked hands...

Without agar in it, no problem, just wrap them in tinfoil and bake em in the oven, above 270F for about 30-45 minutes. Thats it.

You have to avoid to expose them to the "open air" after you get em out of the oven. Think for your self, how to manage it.
