I went back to the spot where I got my first patch and they seem to be growing already Here some pics.
 naaww how cute
 I'm guessing it's dead?
What are those bugs? is it safe to eat?

I am so happy they are growing, even more than last time.

RE: Middle pic, hard to tell. If they don't grow anymore definitely pick them. They're like aborts from an in-house grow, they stop growing for some reason but are POTENT as hell. As potent as a mushroom 10x its size.

Went shroomin tday and jeezus there are a stacks up Is it just me or is this a really productive shroom season? All my old reliable spots are pumping and tday I found several new patches which are equally flush.
I got to the point where I was just picking a handful of the freshest, choisest shrooms from each new patch and leaving 99% of the shrooms behind coz I already got more than I can use for 2011.
I ended up bringing home 200 grams of freshies, and I reckon I coulda hauled over a kilo at least, im not even exaggerating! The weather is perfect! This rain has just got the shrooms swarming accross the land!

I think these guys are called Leratiomyces ceres. I find they are a good little indicator species, when ever I find these dudes I know i'm close to the P.subbies.

P.subs and L.ceres growing together.

200g of freshies laid out in front of the gas heater to be dried over night.

Was also going to question your observation of L.Ceres growing alongside your subs. I was going to say i'd call it a Stroph. Aurantiaca, but wiki tells me they're the same.
Since when were they renamed? Never heard of the term. I always nickname them Red Barons. Whenever i see them i know subs are close, they love the same conditions/environment.

They were renamed in 2008.
See Mycotaxon volume 103, page 116.

Anyway, some cool photos of inactives. I know i've given no information for ID's, but if some of the experienced guys can have an educated guess i'd be interested to know. They were more for cool shots than ID requests.

The last image with the maroonish mushrooms, i can't describe their numbers. Literally 10's of thousands over a kilometre of bushland. Never seen anything like it.

Looks like a little red Hygrocybe and a lot of Mycena. They are both cool mushrooms. It would be fun to try and see how many Mycena you can get in one picture.

Mycena being the bottom pic? I'll go back tomorrow and try and see what i can do, there was a patch i think i can fit in a photo of at least several hundred.
Just out of curiosity, do you know the toxicity of them. Random question i know, just curious...

Many Mycenas contain muscarine, but not in high levels.

Cool thanks for the info, i'll try and get a pic with hundreds of them tomorrow. This is from a patch ive visisted for years and not only have i never seen this genus, i've never seen such numbers! I was absolutely stunned at how many they're were.

Great clip.
Your little mushrooms are:
1. Cruentomycena viscidocruenta 2. Mycena cystidiosa 3. Mycena kuurkacea
