Edible when young enough to be soft. As far as I know they are technically still edible when older, just too tough to be good.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong!

We are going to need a good macro shot of the underside to correctly identify those, but they look like they might turn out to be Trichaptum.

The flowering plant in your first photo is Garlic Mustard; a nasty invasive species and a good edible.

I agree with Alan, something like Trichaptum abietinum.

thanks for the replies! for the unknown, i just stumbled upon it and figured i'd take a shot anyhow. turkey tail type stuff was my thought. if i go back in the next few days i'll try to get a better macro shot for sure.

yeah i've yet to try garlic mustard. i've known of it as an invasive species around here but never bothered to try it. i've actually rarely tried anything "wild" for food. found some wild leeks today, but really needed a shovel of sorts to get down to the roots.

i found some future fiddleheads today too.... gonna go back in a few days for a couple of those. i don't like to pick too many for some reason. feel like a dickhead i guess.

@psylosymonreturns yeah my first outing. so i'm not much of a picker. i only took 4 or 5 mushrooms that were softer to maybe cook up. but we'll see. go sharks! hahaha

You should try the wild leeks. They're worth the special trip with a shovel IMO. If not, the stem and leaves work just fine. One of the best wild foods I've ever eaten.
