Leaders of personality cults tend to be delusional.

Fair chance that many (most?) of us knew what this thread was about just by reading the title. Whether or not 'culture is your operating system' or 'its your software,' I think the sentiment of the video is spot on.
Cultures imprint an arbitrary reality-tunnel on you that consists of assumptions, biases, and prejudices that are fined tuned for the benefit of the culture--not for your benefit. Take a trip to a drastically different country, say India or Gabon, to see how their culture operating system/software differs from yours. Of course, it's easy to see how naive, foolish, and conditioned another person's reality-tunnel is. But it's much harder, impossible for some people, to realize the asinine and arbitrary nature of their own reality-tunnel that has been imprinted by culture for culture's own sake.

"The last time I was here I had said that the difference between a psycadelic and a computer was that one of them was too small to swallow. Well I'm happy to say that a lot of progress had been made in the last 8 months."
what is everyones opinion on his idea that 1 a visible language can be created inside a virtual world 2 a psychdelic experience can be created inside a virtual world
I usually go on binges when I listen to lectures. The McKenna binge is the most powerful and popular one, but lately I've been on a RAW kick.
In response to 1: Language is a system of representation and abstraction. As such, it stands to reason that we could have a visible language as well.
In response to 2: I think you can approximate the psychedelic experience but I don't think you could ever recreate it in the virtual world. If you consider the psychedelic experience to be nothing more than fireworks and visuals--which I'm not assuming you do--then you could probably recreate it. but the psychedelic comes with bodily feelings, intuitions, insights, epiphanies, good feelings, in short, the psychedelic experience definitely has an intimate connection to the body which could not be portrayed in a virtual world.

I'm definitely not the violent type. I have been in my past, being young and having thangs that I could not deal with, which made me an asshole. But not now. I had no idea that would make you feel that way. I sincerely apologize.
