ID help, pann subbs? NE USA.
    #14446694 - 05/13/11 05:18 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

I have been finding mushrooms in a small area of my yard for years. These are different from what I've seen. I get all types. It is a rich soil flower bed. Thick with mulch, wood chips, nice soil, and old vegetation. Always pulling weeds. I am in central NJ, 1 block from a beach.

Habitat:
Found in old mulch bed. Central NJ. Several types of mushrooms I find here of various types. These are first to look suspicious .
Gills:
Black, thick with spores.

Stem:
1-2" long, 1/16-1/8th" thick. White. Bruises tan.

Cap:
3/8th to 1", tan/brown in color, striped texture, spherical, concave, drying and curling under. Yesterday there were more conical..

Spore print color: Jet black. Very dense with spores.

Bruising: slight, tan.

Other information: Strong smell. Not sure how to describe.

Trying to look these up is painful. I'm a noob.
Hard to look at them here, and resist temptation to eat
