Is this Mold??
    #14440959 - 05/12/11 04:44 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Cake has had some greenish/blueish area on it. It has not stopped fruiting however, and I have harvested some off of it. Please tell me if these are safe to eat, and if this is even mold. I took a Q Tip and swabbed it, none came off. I also do mist directly on the cake a bit, not sure if H20 will bruise. None of the "foriegn fungus" has taken hold on any of the fruits themselves. I am getting rid of it and disinfecting the room when I pick these fruits regardless, some are getting close.

Its not mold and your fruits are fine to chow, most likely it bruised due to drying out

No those are mushrooms growing. Blue color could be from handling w/o gloves, pressure from rough handling or water content.
