I am sure my body is a regular human body so I will just ask you this do you notice how sugar works as a kind of downer? do you notice the drop in concentration kind of thing? I am sure that it is there (quite) you there too?

you mean the white powdery sort?or glucose in general?....just about everything you eat that isn't fat or protein turns into glucose soon after eating.
I have never suffered from not being able to concentrate from eating sugary foods unless I have had enough to give a bad stomach ache or something.
not having any carbohydrates at all and staying at such a low glucose level kills any chance of me focusing on anything other than standing up...rather would have the cookie.

monosaccharides are pretty much glucose at its base form I believe.....you need so much per day depending on how you live.hungry or not, your cells without fuel will not even allow your body to be sitting against a wall without being propped up.
if you did nothing but sleep uninterrupted, perhaps you could cut down drastically on basic sugars and live like a feline for several weeks on protein before health problems arise. But you need the carbohydrates like you need liquid or air.

Get stevia powder!
Sugar like table salt is shit, and will make you sick.
For salt, get Himalayan Crystal salt, it's awesome!

Refined sugars, such as those in candy and soda, nuke your body with energy it most likely cannot readily use. In comparison, sugars from fruits are slow released and offer the body energy over a more prolonged period of time.

Theres nothing wrong with refined sugars. It's all the same at the chemical level. It all gets turned into ATP. Table sugar is just fructose and glucose. Once split apart its no different that fruit sugar.

The sugar in fruit, fructose, is also broken down more slowly and as such falls into the slow release category.
The rate at which foods are digested and release their sugars into your bloodstream is important to understand and is covered in our page on the glycemic index. http://www.weight-loss-for-busy-people.com/list-of-carbohydrate-foods.html

Sugar is a slow but consistent killer. After ingesting it is processed so fast that it creates what is called insulin spike. Insulin spike then causes your blood sugar levels to drop even mush lower that initial state (before ingesting) - this causes sleepiness. Another effect of insulin spike is storing free-flowing energy as fat cells. And there's also increased risk for diabetes etc. Not to mention that refined sugars are depleted of vitamins and minerals needed for it's digestion.
