Ron Paul: I Would Not Have Ordered Bin Laden Raid

Sounds good and all but I don't think this helps his chance of actually getting elected.
If anything this is probably going to hurt his campaign which hes supposedly announcing on Friday.

and by that i mean...he's got some good ideas but...chief executive officer of the U.S.A? nah, some of his ideologies are just too hokey, although if more politicians were like him we'd have a better nation imo.

Word. I don't think Ron Paul would be very good during war or on our defense.

So hes too "hokey" for you?
If you ask me our current presidents and officials are pretty fuckin "hokey". Why not try something new? "god" knows we need it.
And yet you say if more politicians were like him we would be better off??
So, What are you trying to say again?

Paul said the United States should have gone after bin Laden the same way it went after Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, architect of the Sept. 11 attacks, by working with the Pakistan government.
"They arrested him, actually, and turned him over to us," Paul said, suggesting the same formula should have applied to bin Laden.

Given the political realities today, I have no problem with the raid. If Paul or those that think like him ran things the last 40 years, we would not have been targeted by foreign terrorists in the first place though.

Your right. For me it's damn refreshing to see a politician that doesn't pander to the lowest common denominator though.

It is refreshing. There's not much hope for him, but I admire him. And plus, HE DON'T GIVE A FUCK.

This is pretty much how Obama looks to me all the time after he not only killed bin Laden but made it into a political pageant immaculately calculated to slam the wind out of his opposition.
Fuckin' G bitch.

I think the raid needed to happen. I dont think they needed to kill him till he was dead tho.
There needed to be a trial.

If Obama based his campaign on "hope and Change". Gets into office, and doesn't change a god damn thing. Maybe it will take someone kinda far out to make any real change.
If by some miracle Ron Paul got elected. I doubt many of his more radical ideas would get anywhere. So it would be in his best interest to work on some of his more sensible ones.
Electing RP would send a message that the people expect shit to change. Asking for more than you want is always a good way to bargain.

Ideally, I agree. What would have happened though is that no one would have accepted keeping him in a jail in the states. So he'd be held in Gitmo. Republicans would go into rage mode about Obama not having the balls to kill him. Civil rights groups would start complaining about Gitmo (rightfully so) again. OBL would end up being tried via military tribunal. That would bring complaints from both sides and be viewed as a sham trial by those distrustful of the US.
None of that would happen quickly either. It would be a political burden that would have lasted to the 2012 election. It sucks, but I have to admit that if I was in Obama's position, I would have made sure the goal was to kill him.

I think the real powers that be would bitch slap him and tell him what was and wasn't going to happen. Shut up and smile, read the TelePrompTer.
