This was actually from a trip a while ago, but I thought I'd post it.

Something I learned:

First of all, let me just say that I've found the nature of the things I learn to be "obvious, yet very profound". They tend to be things, that if told to me before I had the experience, I would probably shrug and say "Yeah, ok, sounds right. So what?" Which perfectly exemplifies why it's called the psychedelic experience -- because even though I totally bought the idea before, I didn't really know it to the point of believing it until I had experienced it.

Anyway, at one point it hit me that my life, the events in it, and my emotions are the most possible important things to me, obviously. This wasn't really news. But then I realized that to other people, my life isn't the most important thing to them. Which is of course silly to be surprised by this. But I realized that I had kind of lived as though it was, and I wouldn't even call myself a huge douche most of the time. It hit me that a lot of problems in the world might be caused by people thinking their world was objectively the biggest one and other peoples' are the smallest.

So my solution, in the end, was pretty plain, but also pretty important. It was basically to try to live the opposite to notion. Try to think of my own life as not that important (which, honestly, really isn't in the long run), and other peoples' issues as a big deal to me. Now this doesn't mean I've become a selfless martyr, but it does mean that I don't expect people to get excited about things in my life, and I try to see it from their point of view and be really excited about things in their life. And I'm pretty sure I've seen positive results from it. At the very least, at a selfish level for, people like being treated like they're important to you. Details about yourself also bore most people. And as Kant would want me to consider, I think it wouldn't be too bad if everyone acted like this.

I'm happy for you. If most would see this, things would be different for sure, but then again I guess all aren't suppose to see it that way.

yeah well
we are equal
seeing others in everything they are is good
it is just paying attention coupled with empathy

most people definitely are too biased in the way that they overemphasize the importance of their own selves
me too
sometimes - mostly when Im with others and Im in good shape - I tune in to those people and my own self diminishes to the seeing of what they show me
they show me in the same way as always basically but as I change my perception of what I am shown.. well you know.. more empathy.. Im not even biased towards my own self and it's importance but towards theirs
I think balance all the time is key
good luck!
