 help! i'm misting with peroxide!

my misting bottle has H2O2 - about 30ml of 9%, diluted 25x (made up to 750ml with clean water). help! 
a recent anno post made me question my methods - is this okay? i'm probably using about 0.5% hydrogen peroxide - am i killing my babies?
anno? you still here? your last post was unimaginable - go out with a tidbit of experience! please?

That does seem quite a lot.I use .88ml of 17% h2o2 in 500ml of h2o.
This is the same amount i use in agar as well.But im unsure of how much
should be in the spray so just stuck with that amount and it seems ok.

There is no need to use peroxide in water you mist with , if you are paranoid type , just sterilize some distilled water and mist with that .
To high a peroxide mix could be harmfull to mycelium and young pins , it is an overkill .
Now peroxide in a perilite bowl is a smart idea , it prevents contams from setting into the small amount of standing water . A 20:1 ratio is fine for that and in humidifier systems . 200 mls of water to 10 mls of peroxide is a 20:1 ratio . With regular old 3% , over the counter peroxide .

Shirley....it will be fine, I have to believe you'll be fine. I have misted with a 5% solution straight from the bottle, it did little harm, the dilution that your are using is absolutly fine....it's a little overkill but it will do no harm....the peroxide breaks down much faster than you may think....

thanks, fellas.
i replaced my misting bottle with 100% water. i don't know where the original plan to use dilute peroxide came from - probably misreading threads here, i suppose. maybe it's only for casings that look a bit suspect, or....?
so what IS peroxide used for then? it's not for cleaning or disinfecting (dettol, bleach etc), so...?

I often have used it in a bubbler, and in the perlite.....as it breaks down it releases O2....they tend to like it and it helps to prevent bacteria and molds from growing on the perlite

You'll be fine. A friend I know used a peroxide mix while misting constanly and got dinged with..... really healthy shrooms.

shirley, you are definitely better off misting with just pure H2O. Use H2O2 just to keep your humidification technique fresh, as it helps prevents bacteria build ups etc.
Its also good, to help lower contamination rates in agar, grain etc or to 'wash' mycelium with when doing transfers.
