yes course it will work
isolating is basically taking a tissue sample from the best performing
sector of mycelium on your plate and tranfering it to another plate
most growers do this until they get a monoculture and hope its the best colonizer/fruiter .
simple transfer can be done too with success like you are saying too but it is possible that you will still get fruits that dont look like each other like hp said above
cloning its easy way of obtaining traits that you want in your mushrooms

Thank you for that links. You helped me a lot. I used the search engine with no good results. You saved me much time. +5 for that.

Looks like you got some awesome psilocin content in those, better make an extract with them to save most of it, so you don't loose half in the drying. An extract with those should make a pretty instant high, since psilocin works right away unlike psilocybin.

Psilocin are supposedly broken down to blue and black byproducts when oxidized. According to wikipedia anyway, the references looked fair enough, so I believe it.
I don't know how intensely psilocin stain blue, so the color to psilocin content ratio is pretty blury. Its probably an OK indication though. But for general shroom potency, its useless, since psilocybin doesnt break down into pigments. Point is if you have a good level of psilocin it probably give the trip a better kick off.

what about the species that bruise black and blue but contain absolutely no psilocybin or psilocin?

I didn't say it's a general indication of psilocin content, but for Psilocybe and Panaeolus genus mushrooms it's usually an OK indication. Especially since none bluing pans doesn't have much psilocin but are still stong as hell since they rarely let you down on psilocybin.
Several of non-psychedelic mushrooms stain blue as well, inky cap turn deep blue when bruised as the name implies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprinus_atramentarius

All I'm saying is that it could be cool to throw some of them on alcohol to make an extract, see how it turn out.

Yes, why not!? But getting ethanol above 70% is a bit difficult. If i find some i will give it a try.

Hey Luger, cloning and strain isolation is probably not bad. I used "strain isolation" as search term and some pretty interesting stuff came up. Hope this helps.
