I am doing my first bulk grow. I have a half a brick of coir spawned 4:1. I spawned it 14 days ago. It is in a mini monotub and put in 2 white garbage bags. I looked at it today for the first time and it is still not completely colonized but there are a ton of pins coming up. I let it go a little longer than the 10 days damion5050 recommended cause I used an LC made by cloning a shroom from the 3rd flush of my last pf tek grow so I thought it would take a little longer. The mycelium seem to be almost everywhere but not very thick but it was never very thick on my spawn either. I also think i used a little to much top layer of coir when i was trying to cover up the grains when I mixed it them with the coir. Also I didnt get the coir very level. So what do yall think? what should I do now?

Does it look white enough? Do you think it will get contaminated or maybe it already is. It smells awesome like mushrooms.

After it pins it will not go back to colonization. It may be the gods telling you but you opened the lid too much and gave them fresh air which started the pinning process. Might as well pin, contam risk is higher but just keep your space as clean as possible without drenching the mycellium in chemicals.

I didn't peek at all. I just took it out of the garbage bag today.

Did you stuff polyfill in the holes or tape over them? Sometimes polyfill isn't stuffed tight enough so it allows air to come in and starts pinning. Even a small draft over time will allow air. Maybe the lid wasn't on tight enough or something but SOMETHING happened that wasn't supposed to. You have to fruit now because it will not go backwards.
All is well though. When you fan, only keep it open while you're fanning and remember, the disinfectant stuff will hurt the mycellium just as well so be careful if/when using it.
Good luck on your grow.
