Skyline the movie
    #14430649 - 05/10/11 04:24 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Despite the reviews, I reccomend this movie. It is awesome and has quickly became one of my favorite films.

I like the fact that the story doesn't follow traditional hollywood bullshit where heroism prevails and aliens are driven out. I mean come the fuck on, if anything is capable of space travel then i am pretty sure they have thought of a way to deal with a species that hasn't touched the tip of the iceberg in that section.

Great movie, realistic approaches to events and leaves you wondering what the fuck will happen next.

I agree its was decent and worth the watch. Sometimes you look at dollars spent making a movie and its low so production value and locations are slim pickings and with the small budget that they used for that movie they did well.

I don't think I would have been happy to see it in the theater but if they come out with a skyline 2 with a bigger budget in 3d I might go.

I think one, but it did respawn after they ripped 1 of the brains out. Can't give too many movie spoilers.

Seriously, watch the movie. You should like it. Everything in the script is how a real alien invasion should pan out for us, except at the end-which will leave you like.....what?

Aliens would just kill us with bacteria before they even landed, it really only takes one alien to wipe out mankind. That would be the most efficient way to do it. They wouldn't waste all their time and fuel flying out an invasion army.

Forgot about that movie, I guess after all the reviews I just wrote it off. Guess I'll watch it later this week, I just got it.

aliens that have evolved some how to live off human brains ,...........,....... ending straight in the middle of the an action scene ,....... this movie had fail written all over it from the beginning, not to mention the .05$ dialog and subpar acting. The only thing it had going for it was the sound production quality and the effects artists who are top notch mind you, same guys who did Battle LA. The only way this movie will redeem itself is by putting forth a sequel that begins right where it left off and some how makes sense out of it.

there would have to be, otherwise there is no conclusion. just assumptions.

dont be distracted by the pretty blue lights, just listen to what they talk about, lol, none of it makes any sense, things just start happening and your left with nothing, not even an ending for christ sakes, there is very lil character development just the first ten minutes where they try to make things deeper but it fails, reminds me of um, Cloverfield/Quarentine, etc... but atleast they had endings and tried to make senes of the situation.

Skyline just looks cool, and I give ample credit to the effects team cause they did a great job I must admit. The best part in that movie is when the guy is looking threw the telescope and watches as a nuclear explosions explodes right threw his scope and nothing happens, OMG ITS BRIGHT etc... just kidding im fine! haha:cheer:

I had no knowledge of it before hitting play, I totally enjoyed it. Even though it felt like the newer War of the Worlds spliced with Cloverfield; Those were both good movies anyway. And even if it did feel like a remix of those, I enjoyed the ending and the cast. Even that guy from Scrubs & Clueless.

Actually the only knowledge I had of it was from a screen shot and I expected it to be some sort of high budget zombie movie, thankfully it was not.

Was the guy down in the garage with his wife that dude from Jurassic Park?

that is cause it makes absolutely no sense what so ever. skyline is a horrible movie I dont understand how people can like it, dont be distracted by the shiny blue lights, heh. Everyone has an opinion and can like whatever they want, but I just have a hard time understanding how it can be. Battle LA was a better movie then SKYLINE, used the same effects crew you can kinda see similarities, but that movie had better dialog and storyline, they weren't great but they were relatively better then skyline. cheers :boobs:

that is true it was like a practice movie. Even filmmakers practice their craft and movies like this are a result. Not really that good but for that mount of money blown on it not really that bad. Its not like its battlefield earth with the church of scifags or something. That was hilariously terrible.

Everyone who made this movie gained a little experience from it and is now better. The effects guys who did this went on to a better film and did a great job. some movies are brilliant some fail when they try to be awesome and some are just made to be made but still suck. This seems like they made it to make it without hopes of billions being made but it ended up being better then they hoped. No real story other then character interaction and its kinda neat ending as I like that kind but you don't see it often.

If some really creative people come up with a way to continue it with a bigger budget and actors who do not suck so bad it might be interesting. Chance of that are less then 1% but who knows. I really do want a district ten to come out though. A rescue or something with an invasion and eslavement.
