Psychedelic Insights and Literature: Wet or Dry?

Here's a question: when you are reading material about the psychedelic experience and its relationship with spirituality, information, the sciences, etc. would you prefer to read a literary medium that holds your attention by including witty puns and esoteric allusions to philosophy and politics, and other writing devices, or do you prefer the operational, cut-and-dry, "Just the facts, Ma'am" approach?

I prefer the inclusion of wit and creativity, something that I feel properly reflects what a psychedelic trip can help with. Especially with Mushrooms.

I prefer unique perspectives i have not noticed before. Its all information, and pieces of the same puzzle. Being too selective of the presentation just limits awareness. Dry facts and fantastic musings both have their place.

I find esoteric language very appealing to me.

Both forms have their respective places, definitely.

I don't think you can really be "cut and dry" when describing the psychedelic experience either. Words themselves really can't describe what these chemicals put you through. Similes and metaphors are the best methods for explaining it, but even the best metaphors are vague to someone who's never tried these substances. It's impossible.
Always I hear from someone, "WOW, it was NOTHING like I thought it would be," after the first trip.

I think it's important for scientific documentation to be clear, succinct, and tongue-out-of-cheek, but there is room for fiction, poetry, and other creativity.

I like to think that the best way to explain the psychedelic experience is in the form of myth. Thats how its always been done so naturally.
