So, Sporulator, after being introduced four years ago these patches have all started up naturally? How far is their spread and how many similar spots have you come across?

This is truly awe-inspiring to see such naturalisation in progress. Can't wait to unleash these pups on the Great British countryside! :awesomenod: ...

I thought Azure mycelium was meant to be aggressive but it looks half asleep compared to the relentless Ovoid!

I created only one (huge!) patch in Switzerland four years ago and I found six patches till now which started up
naturally within 3 miles from the cultivated patch. It's fascinating to observe how they spread on another
continent with different climatic patterns. In my experience  it is an extremely aggressive species.

Last weekend I found another patch at the edge of a wood chip jogging trail.
They are everywhere: On the trail, at the bottom of the logs and around the posts:

I just love it that this mushroom is spreading its love worldwide. Amazing to see how different they look from the ones I gather here in Ohio. Different yet exactly the same..lol. Great work!!!!!!

With a little helping hand from peeps stationed in different areas their naturalisation can be speeded up ten-fold :crazy2::stirthepot::mushroom2:  ...time to get involved!

Thanks guys!

A weird find from today.
Red ants occupied one of my Ovoid clusters and built a nest all around the mushrooms.  :crazy2:

Very interesting.

My first thought was of the leaf cutting ants that feed a mushroom living in their nest with the leaf and the ants then eat the mycelium...

I wonder why the red ants chose this particular spot for a nest if they aren't somehow benefiting from it?

Or is it a battle we are witnessing, what will grow up first, mushroom or nest?

Today I made a bottle of spore solution. I went around spraying every wood chip bed
I could find. Some people saw me spraying around and I am sure they thought that I'm a weirdo.  :crazy2:
