I have no disrespect for religious people as long as they respect others too.
The petition aimed for 1 million signatures, they already have 1,2.
I think they're now trying to get 1,5.
I'm happy for them and hope that it's useful in avoiding this barbarity.

Wait till you are gay in America, your lover you have been with for over a decade gets in a car crash and you cant visit him in the hospital because "only relatives and legally recognizeds partners" are allowed to come visit.
True story I heard from someone who had this happen.

The most ironic thing is, I think (in cases) behind an homophobic is a repressed homosexual, it's like they're so ashame of it that they want homosexuality to cease existing in a failed attempt that the feeling will go away.
That pastor who took them that book saying that homosexuals are more likely to rape children () I'd have to say he's pretty repressed in that closet.

I've never seen that type of behavior, and actually always considered the lgbt people to very unite as unfortunately they haven't yet conquered all the rights they are entitled to have, and it is still a long way to go, that is better fought with union.

With lesbians its good to know that many "lesbians" are in fact straight women who have been raped by men,and who because of that are so disgusted by men that they resort to the company of women - not at all like genuine lesbians who absolutely love women and usually are pretty about men. If you ran into a few ice queens its easy to get prejudiced against lesbians, but those are generally not F/F by liking women but by hating men.
The worst kind of hate I ever saw in real life was ice queens vs all men.

yeah, even though if that end up choosing a partner of the same sex they should support the homosexual cause. I know probably that ends up coming from "irrational" fears but they certainly weren't raped by a homosexual
If someone is assaulted by a black guy it's not ok for them to hate all black people for that, specially as the same wouldn't happen if it were by a white guy.
The most stupid thing is that I've actually had this discussion with someone who thought this.
At the end of the conversation she said "I'm a racist because I hate the human race", and I was like "have you ever heard of misanthropy??"

Its hard to explain the effect an ice queen has on group dynamics. Its not "I'm not interested in men" its an utter "you should be hauled to a death camp and gassed" kind of disgusted hatred. And then they turn around to a woman and it's all butterflies and flowers.
