PC question

Borrowed a Cuisinart 6 qt PC from a friend. When I put a layer of lids and foil on the bottom I can only fit 4 1/2 pints inside unless I stack them. Is it okay to stack? And also there is no PSI setting on this model. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=cuisinart+pressure+cooker&cp=13&safe=off&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=5924588422164263315&sa=X&ei=xpvJTbbzCo28sAOx0pSJCg&sqi=2&ved=0CEgQ8gIwAA# Only a high and low pressure setting. Which should I use for the 90 minute sterilization?

no problem man.. i actually was looking to see how high the pressure went on that thing on google cuz i wanted to read about this unit..never seen one.. i couldnt figure it out.. even in the pdf manual it doesnt say.. id say its at least 10 psi but probably the normal 15 low may be 5 or 10 here they say its 10 which is cool you just gotta wait a bit longer http://pressurecookerrecipes22484.yuku.com/topic/1468
e-mailed Cuisinart to ask about the pressure levels at low and high. They responded that low pressure is 6psi and high pressure is 10psi. I can mostly vegetables and some meats at 10psi. This unit will accept four pint jars comfortably. I have canned tomatoes at 10psi (high pressure) for 10 min. and they came out excellent. I will also be canning fish this fall. I am very impressed with the quality of this unit. I also use it to fix quick meals. I also notice this unit is no longer available on QVC. That is a shame. It is far nicer than the other units they carry. Hope this helps. answered 8 months ago USN-Ret http://answers.qvc.com/answers/1689/product/K122918/cuisinart-k122918-cuisinart-electric-pressure-cooker-questions-answers/questions.htm
edit i think i figured it out.. just pc for like 33% longer than you normally would..

About 120 minutes then on the high setting. And just add enough water to reach the bottom of the first set of jars?

It's okay to stack jars.
Anyone needs a manual or instruction booklet for this pc, it's here:

i usually put a few inches in mine.. i use quart jars but i fill to about half way up the sides.. you dont want the water to boil over into the jars.. but you also dont want the pc to boil out all the water over the 120 min time period.. id say if your using grains then yeh 120min should probably be right... but more wont hurt... if ur doing the pf tek then its alot less time..
