Anyone using PLASTIC canning jars?

Hi Everyone, I'm just wondering/asking if anyone uses plastic canning jars?
The reason I'm asking is becasue Myco Supply sells them on a wholesale level and we're thinking about breaking them down for retail use. We only carry 1/2 pint and Quart Jars, and those who use them now (wholesalers) use the 1/2 pints for liquid inoculation, and the quart jars for substrate colonization.
On a retail level, they'd be almost the same price as glass jars, maybe a little less, and they come with lids.
AFOAF has used them with great success, I'm just wondering if anyone else uses them ?
Thanks, Lana

Swim used to use plastic pint jars from Woolworths that had screw on lids (99P), that autoclave fine and he has always had good results with them (tthey have never melted!).

Lana/Mycosupply is a sponsoring venodr, check the vendor list for a link. This si the first I've heard of plastic jars, I assume they are translucent...??? It seems to me that plastic might cloud with age or something. Glass kicks ass IMO. edit: haha, check Lana's sig for a link...

Yes, our plastic jars are PP (polypropylene), polycarbonate is harder and easier to crack..? I think? I know that PP is what a lot of labs use. Oh, they are clear, not cloudy or natural. We sell lots of them to orchid growers.
I use to have a pic in the "shroomerites image" gallery but I don't know what the link is anymore to get to the gallery.

polypropylene (HDPE) is an incredibly durable material...repeated autoclaving and it remains fairly flexible....it's the same material tyvek is made from...I'd be buying them from you, have you listed them yet....i've always been impressed with the products that I have purchased from you guys in the past...

Here's a pic of the plastic canning jar that we sell wholesale...
I've learned that they are autoclavable and unlike the one in the picture, our plastic jars are clear, not cloudy. It has smooth walls meaning that there are no lips or curves which will block a cake from sliding out. Also, just like glass jars, our filter discs fit perfectly underneath the lid.
I'll talk to my partners this weekend, maybe we'll give some away in a contest to see what people think?
