What's your current job?

Plus what is your favorite job you've ever had. Plus what would your ideal job be if you could do anything.
I work the nightshift at a grocery store stacking shelves.(it blows)
The best job I ever had was at a summer camp being a counselor. By far one of the most fun things i've ever done.
Ideal job for me would be some sort of entertainer. Musician or Comedian or something.

Thats not so bad except for the night shift thing. This fucks up your health and increases cancer risk How much do they pay you per hour?
I'm working for an agency and I get sent to different places each shift. My duties include generally bar work related activities like giving pints and shit to people but depending on the venue I do all sorts of other boring shit.
It pays £5.95.h-1. It pisses me off that sometimes I gotta travel outside town and I lose too much time when I have to be studying
My dream job is in a research laboratory that deals with some sort of bioimaging. And hopefully (if my funding is ok) Ima do exactly dat during the summer. Gonna cut rats nerves, stain it with trippy fluorescent dyes and look at the cells Sounds pretty dope

Warehouse, 3rd shift, 10 hours, 4 days a week. I've had it for about three weeks now and as far as jobs I've had go it's one of the better ones. I'm pretty happy about it, I had to quit smoking for 4 weeks to get the job but it was all worth it.

If you say that one more time, I'll have to come over and live with you. Yours is just about the perfect job!
As for myself: I'm a grad student now. All considered, it's probably the best job I ever had, so I'm sort of sad that I'll be finished by the end of this year. If I could to anything, I'd probably settle down with someone like shroomzi (allowing me to be around exotic plants all day...that would be excellent!) and become a writer, allowing me to spend lots of time in beautiful places, contemplating the book I'm writing, and giving a hand in the whole plant business and all. Every day, I would get up somewhere not too early but not too late either, do some writing, do some reflection while doing a bit of walking, then do some more writing, shop for fresh produce (and find something in nature while doing the reflective walk) somewhere during the day, and cook a nice dinner at night. There will be cats, and a garden with all sorts of useful and/or tasty plants.

Replace the writing with music and visual art and you basically have my dream life as well.
Though I'd have more than just cats.
Edit: And copious amounts of marijuana and psychedelics. Though that's probably a given.

I work at an Italian restaurant now, just started last week.
Best work I've had was in Motorcycle Concentration of Faro, taking beers, drinking beers it's a very relaxed environment and you get o know people from all over the world.
Worst I did was promotions, the most stupid job I've done.
I'd love to take a masters in ethnobotany and/or mycology, but I have to finish my course which is currently in "stand by".

Behind the scenes of society, well outside your Monkeysphere there are many people hard at work whom you will never know to make your life more awesome.
In the production of bottled beer, right before the beer filling machine, did you know theres a guy at the conveyor belt wiggling his tongue in the bottle opening to assure the bottle is well shaped so you won't cut yourself?
That guy is me, think about that next time you drink a beer straight from the bottle.

It is the best job I have had, although working at the casino was pretty fun. My dream job would be a pilot. I have my private pilot license, and was working on my commercial license when 911 happened and screwed up all my plans...

im finishing up a contract job with a film production company in Philadelphia. im doing IT related stuff for them (new website, server installation, etc). this is definitely one of the best jobs ive ever had.. i just wish it was a more permanent situation.
working in film is my ultimate goal.. their offices are in a giant sound stage so i am walking through the set all the time.
if i could get a permanent, full time position doing on-set IT related work (running cable, setting up cameras, monitors, storage server to store the video, etc) i would be in heaven. either that or IT in a post-production house managing the network services and enduser machines for the audio/video editors and foley artists.
or in a film school.
IT is a very technical business (obviously) but i have a bit of an artists brain.. i need to have a creative vibe around me.

In order to legally accept compensation for flying an airplane, you must have a commercial license. What you're describing is a corporate job, and I would also prefer that to an airline. My dad also has a friend with a corporate pilot job. His title is VP, and he gets all of the same benefits as the bigwig execs. He stays in the same hotels, and gets the same per diem when he is on the road. Those are the jobs that aren't advertised. You have to know someone, or network into them.
The good news is my dad just bought a share in a flying club, and has access to a half dozen or so Cessnas. I need to go get myself a physical and a check ride so that I can take advantage of his new toys!

I'm doing my typical summer hustle. Have a small thing at a restaurant right now but I send like three applications out a day for other jobs, one time gigs, and odd jobs.
Really would like a 30 hour a week warehouse job or programming job.
Favorite job? Working at target unloading tractor trailers. Enjoyed the people and the work.
Dream Job: My book idea sells a few million copies or own and operate a mushroom farm. I'm working, slowly but surely on both.

I'm working for a market research group right now.
Basically calling people all day, but we don't sell anything so we rarely have to deal with irate people. It's a boring job at times, but it's definitely one of the better ones I've had. Just sitting back in a chair making random calls to people.

I am currently unemployed. Waiting on surgery. Hoping to study next year. (Pharmacy) My best job was working at a bakery. The pay was shit but I loved my bosses. They would cook dinner for me everyday. Worst job was at a hairdressers. I still love hair, but they were absolutely evil people. Dream job would be owning a nursery. Or making a breeding program for endangered native (Australia) species.

I'm starting a job as a medical courier. I work graveyard shift delivering medical supplies to certain healthcare centers.
Best job I ever had was this contract position where I transcribed these scanned pdf files into word documents from the comfort of my own home and worked on my own time. That was the life.
Worst job would have to be the call center job I left last fall.

I'm with u. U work from home, just rewriting something someone else spent real time working on lol. I dunno what he's thinkin.
I'm a junior accountant for this small non-profit. Should be a cpa in the next 3 years. I don't like it at all, but its what I went to school for since I didn't have a clue of what I wanted.
If I could go back, I would get into music engineering/production, or something that allows me to work with children. Something that is rewarding even without a paycheck.
I'm taking some music classes this fall, just to finish up my last 7 credits I need to become a cpa. Then I gotta start studying for that fucking cpa exam :gonnafeelsbadman:

I am currently a bartender and have been for some years now.
My favorite job? Hmm... I don't know. I've had my share of great jobs and shit jobs, but the one that stands out the most as my favorite would probably have to be working for myself as a vendor at fests. Not much can beat that, unless I would have pursued a career in music.

Current job: Meat Department at Walmart.
Yeah I know the place sucks, but I was layed off for almost a year on unemployment and this is all I could find atm.
Best job: Vendor 35k year, 25-40 hours a week depending. No manager.
Favorite job: Daves video video video. I was 16 and in charge of closing and opening the store. I smoked weed in the back with the manager (girlfriends mom), and watched movies all day long. It was seriously non corporate and we did whatever we wanted there. It was the best time I ever had working. Of course the big blue shit box called blockbuster came in and shut us down.
Most hated job: Walmart. Fuck those mother fuckers. Worse job ever. Fail. Treat employees ok, but they keep everyone at part time and run on a point system for discipline and being sick. Calling the manager an asshole or having the flu is the same thing to them. They cut hours and you have to get the same amount of work done. Only managers get full time.
Awesomest job: Runner for bands at the coliseum. If they needed something they told me and I would go get it. Whatever it was, I had to go find it. I met a few cool musicians.
Most dangerous job: Not sure which was more dangerous; Pizza delivery guy, or a combat engineer in the Marines. I got to play with explosives.

I went to a Subway for the first time the other day. It happened to be right next door to a Carvel I was sent to. I didn't want ice cream for dinner so I got an Italian combo. It was fucking awful. I'm damn glad I live in a place with real delis. Idaho would probably kill me.

i am a bartender/quasi manager, good money for getting people drunk but dealing with stupid co workers/bosses and drunks 40+hrs a week can be a bit much. for some reason my ennabling streak works well in this area.
worst, working graveyard in a gas station in the middle of no where/tweekerville. was cool to buy beer @ 18y.o but that was it. only lasted 8 weeks.

Worst job I've ever had was working in men's sales at a Banana Republic . HORRIBLE pay, terrible managers, and the work just fucking sucked.
I currently work as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut and I'd have to say it's the best job I've ever had. I make about $16 an hour between tips and hourly wages, the people I work with are chill, and the work is extremely easy.
My dream job is to be a criminal defense attorney. I start law school in August, so that dream may very well only be three short years away from becoming a reality.

Only job I've had is being a server. We brew our own beer, so every now and then i getta help out with it. One of my managers smokes bud, so obviously he is my favorite one. he shows me how to ferment beer and clean the filters n other shit. Ideal job would be a musician or a writer.

I work at walmart. I have orientation today. I know the place sucks but it's literally the only job offer I've received in the past 18 months. Fucking ridiculous. but what can you do? This is my first job so i guess it'll probably be the worst.
Dream job, I'm going to go to school to be an Paramedic anyways but I think doing Care Flights with the helicopters would be awesome, from what I hear though you basically need military experience to do that and fuck that noise.

I work for a contractor whose company specializes in renovating and redesigning specific residential projects. Putting up/repairing drywall, painting, installation of all sorts of racks, panels and cabinetry, shelving and shit. most of it is so easy its not like work at all but on the hard days i bust my ass and come home completely shot 10-12 hours after i left that morning.
i was actually hired to eventually replace my boss when he moves away but it turns out thats going to happen a whole lot sooner than expected. so in a few months im getting a huge promotion, an even huger increase in responsibilities and most definitely a nice big increase in salary+benefits.
I love it because my boss is cool as fuck and i make about $20/hr. but it sucks because i go in at 7:30am 5-6 days a week, and thats awesome on the days I get to leave at 2:30 or 3. but it sucks ass on days with a lot of driving.
My dream job is to have the reggae band I'm playing guitar for start touring the US and probably Jamaica (the other guys are all jamaican). That would make me happier than anything even if the money wasn't that great.
