cheers mate i agree! just dont want to look like a greedy bastard haha! i think i have an unfair advantage since my work requires me to walk around the suburbs of Melbourne all day. I cover alot of ground a day and check every reserve/park i come across! shouldn't be long though and ill have enough dry to last me and my mates till summer

No worries. I've kept jars in excess of about 9 months with very good results, though my experience only goes back about a year.
I'm led to believe that, if done right, the mushrooms go into a sort-of state of suspended animation in the honey: jars can be kept for years without loss of potency if they're undisturbed and out of the light & heat.
I'll let ya know in a few years how that works out for me

Would anybody be able to help me in any way shape or form in terms of information and location of Mushrooms in Melbourne, or are they only to be consumed by those who have them within their local vicinity ?
There are no Mushrooms where i am living (at least not any that bring the magic) or anywhere near here it is quite the urban jungle , not as privileged as the north and eastern suburbs with the nature side of things or any side of things really.
If anyone could PM me or reply that would be appreciated

Man-made gardens, wood chips under eucalyptus trees, pine needles. So look in reserves/parks.

You don't have to live ins some far away forested region. I'm not in the north or SE suburbs but have had luck in at least 4 different locations. Look around local parks creeks etc, in suburbia there is quite alot of wood chips which are ideal habitat really. Look for places that are on south facing inclines as I've found them to be the best really because they dry out less etc. if you give up don't expect others to divulge the whereabouts of their patches when you've not got the resolve to find your own. I assert that there ARE subs in your area but you've just not found them. read as much as you can about their habitat, look at as many pictures as you can to familiarise yourself with identification as well. You'll eventually find them it's only a matter of your patience and how much you're willing to dedicate in terms of time. good luck.

I'm living in the center of the CBD atm - and I now know where a few patches are. Just get a map, find the parks and get a tram there.
