ID REQUEST. Oregon pasture land find
    #14427561 - 05/09/11 11:23 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Found this pushing up a decent sized (2' x3) piece of plywood,
it was near the outside edge of a large pile of scrap lumber and landscape waste
can you please tell me what it is

I would say chlorophyllum molybdites with green spores, otherwise brunneum.

I doubt it.  But I have read a suggestion that molybdites does not grow in oregon; if you can google up confirmation of that (or if someone else provides it,) then you would be able to safely assume that this is brunneum or rhacodes.  Both are edible and choice, but cause negative reactions in sensitive individuals, so you should approach them with caution even so.

C. molybdites usually likes warmer climates. Speaking strictly for Europe, C. molybdites is almost exclusively found in Southern Europe in the Mediterranean region. They have been found as far north as Scotland, however. Seeing how C. molybdites is known to start occuring in Spring and then can be found throughout Summer and Fall during humid and warm periods I'd be wary. I love all parasols for their distinct nutty taste, but I've only ever found the edible ones no sooner than late Summer.

i beleive they do not grow here in the PNW as well.

i dont know if that base is abrupt enough for C brunneum, so C rhachodes gets my vote.
