Melbourne mushroom ID request. 1st timer
    #14426485 - 05/09/11 07:44 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Hey guys, went walking my dog this morning and found these scattered around the chipbark garden beds in my local park.

Can anyone please help identify what they are?

Many thanks

Most of these look like some species of Gymnopus, but in the last photo it looks like you have a Cortinarius or something mixed in there.

Great! Never thought I'd find subs on my first day trying!

I would take better pics and wait for a trusted identifier.  Subs can be mistaken for Galerinas which are deadly poisonous.

Care to identify it, because I see none.

The one on the very right(blurry) of the picture seems to have a red annulus(ring) on the stem?

Datamunky you will need clearer pics if you want confident ID's.

Psilocybe stipes often stain reddish/brown as well as blue.  It you break the stem, it is especially noticeable, the core being a dirty red/brown.

No... im not 100% that they are all subs, so I didnt want to get his hopes up. But as to the G.Marg... the one with the ring on the right looked a lil bit fishy.  He just needs better pictures.  Not really sure if its a mixed batch.
Just thought i would remind him to be cautious as subs and Galerina marg share them same substrate and often fruit together.
