Find a store that sells cushions near you and try 'em out!  There's diff sizes and types (i.e. buckwheat, cotton, etc..) so it's best to sit on it first and find the one that works best for you.

I personally would recommend a cotton filled one because they're very light and transportable, although I use a buckwheat filled zafu.  If you get the generic cotton filled zafu, it may take a bit of time to condition yourself to actually be able to sit comfortable on it with your back-straight and legs at ease, but if you can manage then it's worth it cuz u can take it anywhere no problem and you'll learn how to sit properly on almost anything.

But then again, since you've got scoliosis, who knows?  maybe you'll need to use a buckwheat zafu since you can play around with its shape under your butt.

Good luck dude!

Joxy, your ass been on a zafu for over 20 yrs.  What do you have to say about it in terms of inner transformation?

Hi Ginseng1,

hmmm
I take sitting as a mental detox
that never gets you clean, or cleaner
so you keep on being addicted to it
because the high makes it worth

i doubt any store around me sells zafus unless bed bath or beyond had them or something?

but i may get a buckwheat one, just because i dont need a lightweight one

are there any recommended brands or anything i should look for?

and how long did it take you to be able to comfortably sit on a zafu?

Now im starting to think about getting a gomden or kneeling bench.  Does anyone of these have an advantage over another?

do they all equally help with posture?
