I live in Addy Washington and its been raining off and on for the past few weeks, and its been in the mid 40s or 50s. I found this mushroom in the grass and pine needles under a tree. Its cap is firm and its about 1" in diameter, the gills are white and atttached. the stem is pretty dense and stringy ands its 2" to 3" long. They didn't bruise blue. I'm working on getting the spore print. Any idea what these are?

An an amatuer at this....Might be an inocybe sp.?
No expert but think they are babies... Nice better to see the gills and a spore print
They are cool looking

Those are pretty poor quality pictures - but given what I can see I'd say Inocybe sp. doesn't sound like a bad guess.

Don't wanna get ya down man, but based on where you're located, most active species will not grow. You might be able to find some Panaeolus cinctulus on horse poo, but I don't think many active species grow east of the cascades, especially in the spring. As for the mushroom in question, I have no idea
-------------------- Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.
