Just a small update. The jar is almost colonized, still has a few tiny bare spots, but that will be done by tomorrow. I'll be spawning it in a day or two, I've decided to make a 50/30/20 (dry volume ratio) hpoo/straw/coir + gypsum mixture. I don't want to add any additives like coffee or worm castings for this grow, to reduce the chance of contamination. I also don't feel too confident putting straw in, but I feel it's an necessary risk. It's going beautifully so far, I really hope this grow produces at least a fruit or two.

I spawned it yesterday, now I'm praying to the mushroom gods to spare that tray from the mean green! I'll try to let it sit for at least a week without peeking, judging by the colonization rate thus far, it should be close to full colonization then. I left some grains for g2g, so even if this fails, I'm not giving up. I'll update this thread after casing. Thanks for looking!

So far so good! I looked at the tray today, and it's almost done. I'm going away for the weekend, so I'll case it monday or tuesday. Just a thin layer of peat/perlite, and then put it immediately in the FC. Also made two more jars with leftover spawn today. Btw, one interesting detail, the mycelium smells really weird. Something like cubensis fruit mixed with freshly cut grass. I guess I'm just used to the wonderful aroma of shiitake mycelium, but this one is really unique, like nothing I ever smelt before. I hope this species is as quick fruiter as it is colonizer! I must admit I'm really excited about this grow!

I finally cased it today, and it's in the fridge for a cold shock. I'll place it in the FC in a day or two. I think the cold shock might be beneficial to this species, since it grows in colder weather. I'll report if and when anything interesting happens!

The tray just spent it's first 24 hours in the FC. Standard shotgun with perlite, 6500K bulb above it, misting and fanning 3-5 times a day. Temperature is about 75*F. I have absolutely no idea what to expect of this species, in terms of pinning, growth etc. I don't even know what section it belongs in. Grassland and manure Psilocybes are usually one of the easier to get to fruit, but only time will tell.

Wow, am I ever late for the show.
I look forward to learning more about this species.
Thanks for sharing Tanich!

Just keeping this thread up-to-date... Well, today I noticed something that can only be hyphal knots. I'm cautiously excited. It sat in the FC for two weeks not doing much, so I shoved in the fridge for another overnight cold shock. Day or two after that, tiny white bumps are showing on the surface! I now realize I made a mistake with shocking it immediately after casing, without allowing the mycelium to reach the surface. But no big deal, it just took a while longer. I'll report when I'm sure if those are becoming pins, or it's all false alarm. Btw, both my goliath and galindoi trays are doing great! Pans are leaving huge, thick black prints, but I can't seem to make galindoi drop any spores at all! Is there a trick, can somebody enlighten me please? Or do fruits from later flushes print better?

Thank you! I must admit, it takes a lot of will power not to stare at the FC 24 hours a day!
