Mine is 2.6 kilos
I think if your going light weight the general rule is you don't take a tent hammock or bivvy bag
I can't sleep like that though I have to use a tent to get a good rest.

That's good. The norm is ~5 pounds.

I'm thinking about getting a Hennesee Hammock for lightweight
Are you saying you can't get a good night's rest in a hammock?

I just can't sleep without walls - I'm just weird like that Its not the comfort...
Basically if anything wants to get in the tent I will wake up and have my knife under my pillow. If I'm in a hammock I feel more exposed.
I tend to hide my tent in between bushes. i always pick places where no one can see me and very unlikely to find me. I camp illegally though - where ever I can get away with it basically. Sometimes just in big hollow bushes in cities so stealth is my best defence against cops and thieves.

I'm pretty sure it's WAAAAAY easier to stealth camp in a hammock than a tent. There's no such thing as a bad nights sleep in a hennessy hammock as long as you aren't freezing to death. I find sleeping in my hammock to be about ~10x more comfortable then sleeping in my tent.
OP- a 2 person tent for 4lbs 10oz isn't bad at all, that's about the norm. Of course you can get much more lightweight tents but they also tend to cost a lot more.
Example: I was looking at buying a new tent for me and the girlfriend to use for general abuse and car camping. (Since a hammock isn't exactly the most practical thing for a couple all the time.. it works, but it can be a little crowded unless you have one of the huge models)
My top pick was an MSR Carbon Reflex 2 - a 2person tent w/ a full rainfly, with carbon fiber poles, the whole thing weighing a mere 2lb 13oz. You can ditch the the tent body and just use the footprint and rainfly together for a minimalist shelter only weighing 2lbs. But at $500... I couldn't really justify it to myself.
I ended up going with a Marmot Limelight 3. While not my top pick, it's quite a bit heavier at 5 lbs. 10 oz, but it was also HALF the price of the MSR, and a 3-person tent.. not 2. I picked it based on the price range and it has the best reviews I found out of any <$250 tent I looked at. Not my ideal tent by any means, but it does has everything I need it for, and since I'm probably ONLY going to be using it for car camping, the weight was not a deal breaker. So far I love it, going to give it a test run in a few weeks.
When I need to pack light for backpacking, or camping solo.. I just bring my Hennessy Hammock. But it's good to have a tent backup. I may go for the Carbon Reflex or something similar down the line, but for now I'm content.

I have a single person Mountain Hardware tent that 2.5 lbs including ground cover - fits me & the dog & my pack. My 2 person tent is just at 5 lbs with ground tarp, but I split the weight with my husband to keep my pack under 20 lbs. Tents have come a long way. Now if the snow would just melt....
