My Second Grow: (Update,Pics)

verm/coir. 3 quarts of wbs spawn. two 2" holes on each side of the tub, currently with mask tape on it.
my humidor keeps surpassing 100%. i prepared the substrate on the 28th, so it has been 10 days. there seems to be puddles/excess droplets of moisture on my substrate(didn't happen on my first grow).
Should i dab the substrate with a paper towel, or just let it colonize for a few more days? Also should i also add polyfil soon?
Thanks guys!

are you using a caseing??? if not you need to let cultivate longer. If you are then dont use one. youll get beter results in a mono.

tiny miniscule droplets everywhere on the substrate. when i opened my tub(top) to just the press n seal w/ painters tape water driped off like it was nothing

no casing. i mean it's only been 10 days, look at my first grow in my sig, the substrate wasn't fully colonized and had blotchy spots of myc not sure if i didn't spread the spawn good enough or didn't use enough for the amount of a (a brick of coir, 2 quarts of verm/3 wbs quart spawns) equivalent. sub. too moist/100%+ humidity?
i wish someone could provide some insight

okay found out that i have wayyyyy to much moisture.
i'm going to get a roll of paper towels and carefully layer some over it real quick.
i'm assuming an excess amount of moisture hinders the efforts of mycelium to grow up into the substrate eh?

it has been two days now since i have added the polyfill and have seen no signs of pinning whatsoever!
i have a small fan hitting the tub about 2 feet above it. it's also 100% humidity.
not sure where to go from here? help would be much appreciated

Those tubs don't look 100% & I see a cluster of three pins under the far left poly hole in the first picture...
I let my tubs sit in colonization until I see a couple pins on the surface, then introduce into fruiting conditions...
Here's some pics w/ times...
14 days colonization + consolidation...
1 day after putting into fruiting conditions
2 days later
1 day later

I'm aware it isn't always the case, but all too often do I see subs without poo lacking in the colonization department. Also, it seems strange that you say the project is heavy on moisture, yet the sides are shrinking away from the walls of the tub.
Find some free , and give it a try.
Good vibes while you finish this one though!

and another day + goes on

in ambient lighting. just took it out of a trash bag so that it would absorb more moisture. i also just put the lid back on.
is that fatty-stemmed pin normal? haha.
are those little shrooms forming on my mycelium also? this grow is alottttt different that my first

I don't know why you had a bag on it after in fruiting conditions, but yeah... leave it off.
IMO, humidity should be kept as high as possible with max FAE possible until you get primordials covering the substrate. Once they start looking more like pins, it's acceptable to let the humidity drop a bit in favor of more FAE. Watch our for drying/loss of condensation, then begin misting as necessary to help with humidity and replenish the moisture used in maturing fruitbody formation.
If you see the stems getting puffy-white, more FAE/less humidity. If you see the sub yellowing, less FAE, but be sure not to over-mist as this will create a mat of dense mycelium on your substrate surface effectively limiting other waves of pins and/or the subsequent flushes.
hope this helps!

this is my setup small fan about 5 feet away from tub on high, although the light is nearer the monotub. my substrate also seems to be shrinking. there are a few more small miniscule pins.

does this look correct? i also loosened the polyfil for more fae, my humidity is good. but low moisture condensation on the monotub walls.

Usually I'm pretty good at keeping up with threads where I am directly contributing. I was pointed back to this thread, but I realize I'm likely a bit late. Although, I'm wondering if you are still using this setup.
With a hybrid design on the holes and a fan (not only on high five feet away but also pointed directly at the tub), it's no wonder you have no condensation on the walls and a shrinking substrate. Well, you did...
Anyway, I hope you figured this out on your own, and I look forward to your progressive success pictures.

This thread looks interesting , your sub definitely did not look 100% colonized from earlier posts when you put it into fruiting conditions but you seem to have a cluster of pins and quite alot of hyphal knots from recent photos....let me know how this turns out for ya
