Basic Fruiting Question/
    #1441991 - 04/09/03 07:29 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

I recently spawned B+ in rye with great success, and now cased them in pure straw. As of now the straw is almost fully colonized as well and I put them in the terrarium. Up to now I have kept everything in my furnace room where it was quite warm.

Yesterday my friend came over and told me it was too hot to keep them in their fruiting stage in that room 80-80oF. SO now I moved them to another room with little - no heat source 65-74oF.

Was this the right decision? I don't want to kill these since I have had bad experiences in the past with too much heat. What would be the better route in my case? What is the IDEAL temperature for fruiting?

So far these are coming out so well I really don't want to screw up now.

Should be fine. I think ideal fruiting temp is 75 or so.

Yeah, they need to get colder to fruit. So your casing should be just fine. Might try for a bit more warmth, but not too much.

Ideal temp for fruiting is 74-78.
