Are you serious? What good would attacking Sweden do?
Whose military might and support of Israel keeps the political reality of the world as it is?
Swedens?

"Hates freedom" is a bit of propaganda on the part of the den of jackals that was the previous presidency. Your fixation on it is bewildering to me.

You said they hate your way of life. If they do then wouldn't Sweden be a prime target?

It really seems like you're either not reading what I'm saying or feigning ignorance to piss me off.
In case I haven't been abundantly clear, Sweden doesn't have the political might to (in the eyes of the people we're talking about) force its culture on anyone. An attack on a country that doesn't have troops desecrating your holy ground doesn't do a goddamn thing to inspire revolt in anyone.

No, they also hate the moral degeneracy of our culture.
It doesn't have to be one or the other.
And I didn't say dick about Sunnis in general, I am speaking specifically of the strains of salafist thinking that Osama comes from, and I've been pretty clear on that.

Ok but when you insinuate that the terrorists hates something you imply they think of it as a valid target. Be more precise with your words.

We've gone back and fourth three or four times and I still have no idea what point you're trying to get across, aside from exhibiting a general defensiveness.
As far as I can piece it together, you think that I somehow impliedly agreed with the Bush administration assertion that terrorists "hate freedom," and are trying to convince me otherwise?
You seem to think that I can't tell the difference between despising our popular culture and resenting our ability to project it, or that the whole conflict can be boiled down to a catchphrase?
I really don't get it.

Touche. But I wonder who you think is more right. The Wahabbi's or the Americans?

I really have no idea. I don't have a strong belief in right or wrong at the state level.
It's easy to see what's right or wrong for a man to do, or a group, but global politics is just too nuanced for me to get a grip on. I tend to look at these things in terms of differing levels of stupidity, but that doesn't really answer the question.
If the popular uprisings across the Arab world bear fruit, at least, the whole salafist philosophy we're discussing here will lose a lot of its power. It doesn't have to be a choice between a repressive American-backed gov't and a return to tribal days. Maybe it won't matter.
EDIT: I'll put it this way: I think that the way these groups employ terrorist tactics is senseless. The only way it makes sense is if they're trying to turn the conflict into a war on islam by playing into the hands of fundamentalists on our side who attribute the acts to all muslims, but then they're also cutting the heads off of all the other muslims they see as infidels. So I don't know about evil, but it seems pretty stupid. For smart deployment of terrorism, see Hezbollah forcing Israel out of Lebanon twice.

Well if I was in Osama's position I would have executed 9/11. However I would have later regretted that decision learning how American's overreact when you attack them. I believe Osama did regret 9/11 too when I heard that he told all 19 of his sons to not join jihad.

What reason did he have to attack us? I mean other then all of our way of life shit which really means our not having respect for our brothers and mass over consumption while people starve and have their lands raped at gunpoint worldwide. These are true, along with others. Maybe we denied him access of smuggling routes? Maybe a lot of shit. Certainly we didn't put him in any position to cause direct retaliation. At least at a state-hood level.

We impose sanctions left and right. Osama didn't suffer from those. I mean assuming he did care so much for all of Islam worldwide, with his obvious(or not) intelligence and oil shares, why would he have planned and funeded attacks that he knew would kill hundreds of thousands if not millions more of his brothers, rather then invest in strategies and ideas that would make a positive change worldwide and possibly decrease western imperialism?

I heard Osama is/was a product of the CIA. Anybody verify this with facts or debunk this?
