Nice, there are apparently some nice types of crystal found inside the limestone rocks here in middle Tennessee. I may have to find a place to go search.

Damn man, that sounds amazing. I would jump on it if it weren't 3,000 miles away, and even then...not sure if this is season specific, but next time I'm in Northern Cali I'd be down to go. Anyone seeing this should jump on the awesome opportunity if you can.

I love this thread! Anyone here have any neat fossils? I missed a page before i posted. The mazon creek fossils in Illinois are really well preserved soft part fossils that are so rare, but give glimpses of the internal anatomy of these creatures. I live near the coon creek formation of west Tennessee.Laid down at the end of the Cretaceous, this seaway split N.America from the gulf of Mexico through Canada. The pink palace museum in Memphis has a huge amount of info on this slice of natural history. This seaway left extensive chalk deposits preserved today in Kansas,South Dakota, Texas, w.Tennessee, w.Alabama, s.Illinois, and the last non-bird dinosaurs browsed and hunted its shores. In north Ms. and Al.,We(My children and I)find sharks' teeth, large extinct oyster relatives, and rarely find teeth from the tyrannasaurid preying giant crocodillian Phobosuchus.Fossil findings document this huge croc preying on T.rex's slightly smaller cousin Albertasaurus. I have some leads on good places in the S.E. U.S. to fossil hunt,if anyone is curious.
-------------------- Rocks speak to me, and tell me this: The Hell Creek formation is a gigantic slab of rocks that covers several western states. It contains an account of the dinosaurs' demise. In the late Cretaceous period, the first Cannabis species appear, and soon after, all the non-bird dinosaurs disappeared. Obviously, marihuana killed the dinosaurs. That giant meteor that smacked the yucatan peninsula right afterwards, coincidence.

the fire obsidian I polished earlier I've finally seen now that the sun is out. it's worth about 600 at least. I can see the one i'm polishing now is worth even more.

His and mine are both fire, mine is more of a bronze gold color while his has the red and green going. If his is from the same dig it was maybe dug 10 feet apart.

hello! I am very interested, as well as some of my friends! We just grab our tents, tarps, rainflys and what we can carry in a knapsack and hike as far as we can into nature until our legs can't go no further... then we relax, eat some L and goodies and enjoy the immensity of being alone with nature. this is primitive camping to me, if this is primitive camping to you then we would love to join you! no stoves, no fires even if we can't find the supplies where we camp to get one started. one big ole' jug of water, you get the picture!
none of us have been mining, but none of us complain and we all love adventure and some good backbreaking labor! pm'ed you because i'm serious.
