* Habitat (where [woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude] and what [soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?)] does it grow on) * Characteristics of the gills (color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc) * Characteristics of the stem (length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc) * Characteristics of the cap (diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc) * Spore print color (very important!) * Color that the mushroom bruises * Scent of the mushroom * Anything else you might find important
Found near eucalypt trees next to elephant grass(that long sharp stuff) in Tasmania, Australia.
Soil was a mix of dead and living tree litter. it was growing in moist dark soil.
Gills are a dark mustrad yellow colour, not all gills are connecting to the stipe. Stem is thick and solid and bruises blue. The older ones are about 7cm in length with the cap being flatand a slight nipple on top. Cap is about 4cm in diameter. the REALLY old ones are starting to curl up into a concave shape with blue colouring on the edges of the cap.
The young ones are quite domed and starting to open up into a pyramid shape.
Not much smell at all. rather weak.
Trying to get a spore print. will update with that.

The colours in that picture are heavily saturated and that's why they appear to be red.

Also, try not to rip out all the mycelium when you pick, either pinch or cut them off at the base.
The more mycelium you rip out, the less mushies for next time
EDIT: I would also add that this might be hypocritical as my sig contains mushrooms ripped out with mycelium, but I haven't got around to getting new photos, and I definitely dont do that anymore. Peace.
