38 hours or so? it was a drive straight from phoenix Arizona to manchester Tennessee for bonnaroo... i think in total it was about 2300 miles. I also had a 36 hour drive straight from chicago to arizona a few weeks before that.
after a while, you just start to mildly hallucinate... but interestingly enough, after missing an entire sleep cycle, its extreemely difficult to get to sleep no matter how much you want to or know you need to.
usually, i'd have to start on a 12 pack when i got to where i was going, and not stop till i passed out.
But if you know you are going to have to do one of those trips, its best to time it right. pack your bags the day before, get a good 10 hours of sleep, wake up, and start driving. its best if you can start driving around sunset, so that when you naturally start getting sleepy, the sun will be coming up. it kind of tricks your system into thinking you should be awake, since the sun is up.

3 days. With enough caffeine, pizza, and stupidity, you can do anything

Around 50 to 60 hours, when I was about 18....Completely sober the entire time.
This was before I ever had the slightest clue what a psychedelic was like, had not even smoked pot at the time. Towards the end of the 2nd day is when things really started to get weird. I felt like I was floating about in a dream, my entire "reality" was very dreamlike and I even questioned if I was dreaming or awake a few times....
Now looking back, and now that I have experiences to compare it with, I'll say it was far more along lines of a deliriant and somewhat dissociative rather than "psychedelic"....And I do recall having slight waves of euphoria at points

72 hours is the longest I've ever been up, but I've done it many times. In the past 3 years or so, I spent a lot of time in Hollywood with my friends tripping balls on vitamins e and k from Friday to Monday morning with little or no food and no sleep to boot. I gotta say, the body needs food and sleep, and when you push yourself that hard, you can get dangerously close to death. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Around 5 days on a Dexedrine and Desoxyn binge.
I was seeing shadow people everywhere. My eyes felt like they were bugging out of my skull. I was trying to work on my car at 3am. Every time I went on the front porch to smoke a cig, when a leaf blew across the lawn it turned into a cat or a dog in the corner of my eye.
I was also seeing spider webs everywhere and hearing voices I couldn't make out (it was the A/C system that sometimes makes funny noises).
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It was way trippier than any amount of mushrooms or LSD I ever had.

Many of the experiences people have described from sleep deprivation, and from what I've experienced, they seem very very much like the effects people get from deliriants & anticholinergics (Diphenhydramine, Datura, Doxylamine, etc...).
I find the two (sleep deprivation and deliriants) to feel damn near identical.

I've never had experience with delerients, but it was definitely the beginning of amphetamine psychosis.
There's an old thread on Bluelight where people posted their meth psychosis stories and they are WAY crazier than what I ever experienced with prescription amphetamines, but they also usually stayed awake longer than I did.
I couldn't make it past 5 days. I remember sitting at my desk, playing a movie and looked at the clock and it was 12am roughly. A second later (that's what it felt), I looked at my clock again and it was 3am.
That's when I knew it was time to put the speed away. Fortunately I had lots of Xanax and Klonopin on hand so it wasn't a very painful process.
But it was definitely a strange one.

I used to use 150-250mg benadryl to knock me out after a speed binge.
Crazy crazy crazy things happened and then I fell asleep.
