    #14415996 - 05/07/11 04:10 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

These garden giants haven taken control of the whole garden and a have expanded 10 fold in almost exactly a year. the mycelium has gone from the wood chips around the beds , into the beds and pots and anything touching this area!
while planted in the spring of last year i had fruits by that summer. but the second year boy they sure come earlier!!

Nice! How are your plants fairing growing along with the Stropharia?

Hey psylosymon - hope you don't mind me posting that link about this to the gourmet section - one thing I like about these guys is how generous everyone is with edible cultures. I tried putting an SRA print on agar a few years back, and there was no contamination OR germination after 3 months, so a proven fruiting strain is great for the community.

Since you posted here I'm assuming you gave your tacit approval.

Anyways for being a good sport I have a Psilocybe subaeruginosa print/gill fragment if you'd like one. I'm going to be sending them out to a few people, including gill fragments for Alan to study under the microscope. In keeping with your giant SRA the specimen I got my samples from was this beast. Standard size subaeruginosa's are on the left.

Let me know!
