Im not sure if it could be anxiety or mild to low OCD. I find myself counting the letters inside words and sentences, lines in a paragraph, adding up a cluster of numbers i find, adding and multiplying the number of ceiling tiles and floor tiles, etc. Any idea to what it could be? If anything...

Sounds a bit like OCD. As long as it isn't interfering too much with your life, it's not a problem.

It takes a few seconds away from my time and causes me to lose attention constantly. It isn't really a burden but i wouldn't think twice about getting rid of it somehow with meds maybe.

I have heard that they give out SSRI's for that, although I don't know how effective that is. Maybe you should talk to a behavioral-cognitive psychologist first.

OCD.
We all have something we're "ocd" about. You want meds just because you count stuff? Wait until you actually have something wrong with you, you'll realize that most prescribed medications create more problems than they fix.

Do you ever notice yourself not doing it?
What if you were to stop yourself from doing it, what's your reaction (if any) to that?

I used to do the counting letters thing did not multiply though
anyway(!) get aware wake up to that and everything else for that matter it is an addiction neurological connections to counting what you see that have grown stronger than for the majority of people maybe they will weaken as your attention naturally gets directed to other stuff it is an occupation maybe thoughts will take over that's what happened to me
what you should do IMO instead of loading yourself with drugs is take acid no seriously (acid advice really serious, please do, it will help, but do not limit your changing to that) what I mainly suggest is get into meditation meditation is all about getting aware and observing what goes on in your head, what you experience and do sooo... please do get into that you can read about it you can just watch your breath watch your surroundings watch your thoughts for that matter
but since you already notice this OCD like behavior or whatever letters some psychologist wants to label it with a very natural start for you is to direct your attention elsewhere when you notice yourself do it gradually your usage of the counting connections (your counting (behavior)) will decline will vanish

I used to do something similar. Once I started tripping it went away though. Maybe try some mushrooms or acid and see if it helps.

yea that definitely sounds like OCD...and I wouldn't say that we're all OCD about something. Ok maybe I'm OCD about smoking weed but really? if you constantly do it and you notice it and it bothers you then it's a problem. Especially since you seem to have no control over it...
sure do mushrooms though and see if it helps, if not then you got to have a good time
