Those seem like the exact reason to vote for Ron Paul.
seems most people are unaware that voting for one of the 2 party tools is the wasted vote if they dont subscribe to what those parties believe, I mean seriously, how can a vote be wasted if it's on a candidate you support

I remember all the talk for the 2008 election. "Ron Paul's got good ideas, but he's not electable. I'm gonna vote for Obama/McCain because I don't want McCain/Obama to win."

I'm going to repeat the same point I made over and over and over again in 2008 that almost no one here seemed to grasp back then, but hey... I'm nothing if not persistent -
Ron Paul is not running as a Third Party candidate!
This means he is not doing a Ralph Nader or Ross Perot, he is trying to become the Republican presidential candidate. So, what are the implications of this?
The implication is that if you want to see Ron Paul as the next president of the United States, you must register as a Republican, then vote in the Republican primary in your state to ensure your state's delegation heads off to the Republican convention with orders to choose Ron Paul. Because if insufficient delegates to the Republican convention vote for Ron Paul, then he will no longer be a candidate come November 2012, much as you might wish it were otherwise.
How many of you are willing to do that? Not only to register to vote, but to register yourselves as Republicans?
My take on the political demographics of The Shroomery over the last eleven years is that the vast majority of y'all would rather rub shit in your hair, then set it on fire, than to become a card-carrying, registered Republican, Ron Paul or no Ron Paul.

Paul stands for more than than ending the federal drug war. In fact my biggest reason to vote for him is ending 3 wars, which nobody else is offering really.

Many states dont require you to register with a party to vote in a primary... Some states dont ever require a party affiliation for nominated representatives. For instance; the two most voted for candidates in a primary get the nomination even if the're both Dem, or republican.
A really good reason to vote in primaries is because there are often other things on the ballot, and because of extremely low voter turn out, very few people are deciding important issues.

The only thing that possibly makes him "not electable" is that corporations, other politicians, and the media are against him.

Ron Paul 2012
What really pissed me off is during the election, he couldn't get 5 minutes on TV or in debates. But as soon as the election was over, he was on every channel with all the talking heads going "everything you say makes snese, whoa, great job Dr. Paul!"

YOu guys are all on here, talking about how everything Ron Paul says is perfect, and his ideas are solid, and how OF COURES he's electable if only we would cast the votes for him.
.. but as long as he's on a STRICT campaign he simply cant' be elected. Abolish the Department of Education? Good luck pitching that to the majority of the voting class. Most voters have kids, or grandkids, and couldn't fathome voting for a man who wants to make their kid less intelligent. I know thats not what their vote means, but thats what they see it as, because they're uninformed and because he's on a conquest to kill the DoE! Not to menion the Fed, and a number of other federal institutions who - on the face of it - may not do anything, but sound very very important to the majority of our population.
But thats the problem with libertarianism in general: refusing to evolve at the expense of potential party growth. Understandably, when you're going for "quality" and not "quantity" with your party, you dont want to sacrifice your ideals for more members ---- but what good are ideals if you're stuck preaching them election-after-election over youtube and drug website (no, I have not heard Ron Paul mentioned anywhere other than here)
Edit: and dont think i'm a Ron Paul hater. I think our fiscal situation is so dire, and our representatives so entrenched, that our financial viability is gone and it will take an extreme lurch back in the other direction to correct the situation. LUckily, I think he can do it. Sadly, I dont think America will give him teh chance to.

I agree the DoE thing probably doesn't garner him much popularity... if he's going to say that he better explain it damn well for those who have no clue.

Actually the DOE doesn't make people more intelligent. Mass schooling is actually a system that's designed to dumb down the masses, not enlighten them.

Yes, with each increase in the size of the department of education we've actually gotten worse by global ratings..
