Fruiting chamber question

So the old hippie who lives above my garage is planning to use the shotgun fruiting chamber for cube B+. He plans to use a humidifier because the air in the room above the garage isn't very humid. He wonders, given this combination of chamber and humidifier, if it would be necessary to fan and mist the chamber, say, twice daily, or if it can be left pretty much alone?

A monotub is a better option than a SGFC if your lazy or don't have the time to mist and fan

So even if the project were to take place in an attic, placing a humidifier in the room to raise the ambient humidity would not be necessary? I remember reading that RR said the ambient humidity needed to be around 30% for the SG to be effective.

he could easily humidify his room, to make his air more humid. making it better conditions for the sgfc. just make sure its not on 24 7 , it will drench the room, and you dont want that... trust me.. get a timer if need be

oh ok ... thought u were trying to use a humidifier directly to your FC. Yea you want it to be somewhere around 30% or more. If its less it could suck humidity out of your FC (if my logic is correct)

Still dont need it. You can maintain your sgfc without having a humidifier running.

Thanks a lot guys. According to what I've seen RR say, it still needs to be misted to allow for evaporation off the cakes to initiate pinning.

So let's say that dude wanted to scale down a project. Could smaller chambers be used (say, one chamber per cake with 1cc per cake and two total cakes)? This way he could keep them in the house, without having to run a humidifier. Would this work? And how much perlite (in terms of height in inches) would be recommended for individual-cake-sized chambers?

The preceding post was just a joke, search for stealth grow teks, there are some on here that might help. Get a small tub and make a Mini mono, painted or covered in tape on the outside with the light in a jar in the lid, throw a doily on it and put a lamp or flower arrangement on top of it and, BAM, instant table.(with mushrooms growing inside)
