Fox hates Paul, theyre probably doubling the numbers for the other guy.

/:tinfoil: paul definitely sounded the best. I could see how Caine would appeal to the typical pub' though

Nah...

I agree with Ron Paul about the drug war and the police state, but about everything else not so much.

The bass on that intro sounds sick. :awebig:

Ron Paul is awesome and if he wins it'd be the best thing to happen to America since...ever. But it isn't going to happen.

Did anyone watch fox for a few minutes after the debate on Hannity or whatever the fuck?  They had a room full of people all claiming that there opinions were completely changed and that they now have Cain as their front runner.  It literally looked like a infomercial for Cain because everyone who answered a question just gave pre thought out bullshit type responses.

I was surprised Paul got as much cheering as he did for an event that Fox held.  Very encouraging.  Right when Hannity started, they said that all candidates besides Paul would be on the show claiming that he had a Tea Party meeting or some shit, probably because he did so well.

Did he sound more level headed than he did on the 08 debates? Maybe hes taking it serious this time.

My impression is that people do not like Paul because they are afraid of the federal government abandoning them with its help with social programs, medicaid, education, etc, but I think these fears are irrational.  For one, if Paul were to take office, its not like these things would go into effect immediately, but the discussion will be had at a more rapid pace, which I think is a good thing.

The bottom line is this: we cannot expect the federal government to continually take care of us, so therefore the states need to figure out ways to function independently, within themselves.  That is not to say that all states will be closed off from each other...states would still be able to trade and exchange ideas.  The later is perhaps the most important because if you have 50 laboratories of democracy trying to find a system that works, one is bound to do it right that may illuminate the path for others to follow.  Obviously, such a transition would take time, but do you not think that if every state were to become sustainable in its own right that it would not offer millions of extra jobs for people at home?

If the federal government were to take a smaller role in this country, I do not believe the people will just wither away; but rather, it will be the spark that gets this country to get to work together as one to form a true democratic community.  I think people will also have much more meaningful lives if they have to depend on one another for survival, also making the community and sense of democracy stronger.

I just don't see how Obama could win again if the economy continues to deteriorate.  If gas and food prices rise to unprecedented levels as the country heads into elections, I don't see the people being content with the current administration.  People will be clamoring for "change" once again.

I find much of what you say to be what I also believe.  However, I despise Ron Paul and it isn't because of this, "My impression is that people do not like Paul because they are afraid of the federal government abandoning them."  I believe he is an isolationist retard with a child's understanding of trade issues and finance.  His greatest appeal is to idiots who think the most important issue before the government is a repeal of federal drug laws.  Word to you stoners, the states aren't going to let you get stoned anyway and federal laws are for the most part irrelevant.

Perhaps some states will pass legalizations laws and some won't.  I am sure that California and Colorado could at least get cannabis legalized, and who knows how lax laws could become over time once people see a society without prohibition.  In the least, as a citizen you would have the option to move to a state within your country that has legalization if you do not agree with the policy of your own states laws.
