I have two patches im keeping my eye on. Psilocybe Ovoideocystidiata flowers till July so i have plenty of mushrooms on the way! Each patch has around 20-40 mushrooms with more pushing through the wood chips!

So the mushrooms were a little upsetting, they still worked but the heat really messed with the potency!

A lesson learned hopefully. Be patient. You probably ruined your shrooms. Blow driers get really hot.
I saw a friend do this to a pound of amazing fresh picked nugs. Totally ruined the whole thing. I couldn't get high from it for half a shit after that. And thc is pretty resistant to high temperatures, I mean you smoke it, cook with it. With mushrooms... probably a big mistake.

so how do you know how potent they were before you dried or even ate them? this would require some very expensive lab equipment! you are aware that mushrooms potency can very quite a bit, right? even from the same batch, and individual fruitbodies vary.
like someone said before you can cook with these things, or nearly boil them for a while. i can guarantee your shrooms aren't weak because of drying them at 150 degrees.

Well it could have been a less potent patch then the first one but idk, It felt like the mushrooms just werent hitting their full potential, I mean the last time i took these guys it was such a powerful high. Plus i took all the super dry ones and didnt feel anything! My friend who took the wetter ones seemed to be ALOT higher then me. And i ate a whole eighth to myself so it seems like it could have been the blow dryer.

Just go with your instincts brother. Even tho i apologized for my outdated information... There are reasons that support that heat very well can affect mushrooms. "I am going to get flamed for that statement sir."

Boozie said: Contrary to popular belief, heat in that range is not going to noticeably effect potency. Some people grill or saute their shrooms with other food with no loss in potency. I dry mine in a dehydrator at around 120° and then make tea by steeping them in near-boiling water. I've never noticed a drop in potency.
This. I routinely use a dehydrator, and I've extracted with boiling ethanol.
Nobody has ever shown any evidence of damage to the magic at anything less than the melting point of the molecule, around 350F.

I have used a dehydrator, but ended up pulling it apart and removing the heating coil... From outdated information i suppose.... I could just have easily used a fan now that i think about it.
