Let's face it, every world super power throught history: the Roman Empire, Egypt, the Brits w/ there colonies, the Spaniards w/ the Inquistion, Gangus Kahn and his crew, for fucks sake the Vatican w/ the crusades all conduct business in this manner.

So you can't single out the U.S. b/c I'm pretty sure if it was you're country that was the superpower and not ours, they'd be imposing their will on the world!

Next in the crosshairs...

Rumors of War: The documentary will explore the dangers that a nuclear Iran presents to the free world, as well as provide insight into the extremist regime that world leaders will be dealing with as they prepare to begin nuclear talks. The special will also examine the Iranian government’s beliefs and history. For over a year, the filmmakers have been researching and shooting this documentary. They have performed extensive interviews with former high ranking government and military officials who have been a part of top secret strategy sessions regarding the growing threat of a nuclear Iran. Rumors of War will examine the current leadership of Iran, Ahmadenjiad, Khameini, who are part of a radical Muslim sect that believe it is their duty to hasten the return of the 12th Imam, a Jesus-like figure who will wipe the planet clean of Iran’s enemies, of which Israel and the United States rank 1 and 1a. They believe, and have stated publically that by initiating worldwide chaos they can bring about his return. There is irrefutable evidence that they have already taken steps in that direction through terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas – adding nuclear weapons to the equation would literally put the entire world at risk.

Bush's biggest mistake was invading Iraq instead of Iran. They were the two biggest powers in the Arab world and the only ones with the WMD capabilities to hold each other in check. Unfortunately because of Bush Jr's retarded daddy complex he invaded the secular one that had no intention of sponsoring anti-American terrorism. Iraq probably would've had a revolution in February just like all the other Arab countries run by dictators

I mean Jesus, Iran even has more oil than Iraq...

kinda random...but

i keep hearing it repeated everywhere that osama was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. what part exactly did he play in all of that? far as i know, the guy who actually organised it all was  Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. even on the FBI's most wanted site, 9/11 wasn't mentioned at all in his crimes. they had his 1993 bombing at the trade center and a bunch of other stuff, but nothing about masterminding the attack.

is this like, the biggest public misconception ever, or am i missing something?

Nope, people just assume because the TV told them so.

Some people point to video and audio forgeries as confession,  but the video has so many discrepancies, (such as writing with the wrong hand for example) and there is no way to validate the audio only recordings.

Supposed to do?

Well Iraq did retreat from Kuwait.

They paid reparations to Kuwait in the form of 5% of oil revenue being turned over to them, a deal which is still in effect I believe.

And as for the WMD...well we all know how that one turned out dont we?

So what else were they required to do?

But lest we forget! April Gillespie told Saddam that the US would not get involved in Arab-Arab conflicts just before the invasion. If she had told the truth it is likely the invasion would never have taken place. Saddam may have been insane but he wasnt fucking stupid. Buf if the invasion hadnt taken place how would the US and UK have been able to justify taking control of Iraqi oil revenue up until December 2010?

Just face it Zappa, you are in full support of a bunch of genocidal murderers drunk on greed and power.

Completely open facilities for inspections and stop putting radar locks on planes.  Then there was the Oil for Food scandal.  That is just for starters.  Colin Powell laid out quite a list.  WMDs were just one item.

He was not in compliance with the terms of surrender he signed.  Oopsie.

No, you support genocidal murderers, i.e. Saddam Hussein.  And no April Gillespie did not tell him that he could invade Kuwait, nor would there be any reason for him to believe we wouldn't get involved in mideast conflicts since we had just had plenty of involvement in one he was involved in.  Another fantasy of the deranged left.

Yeah your right, killing half a million kids is a fair and considered response to these horrendous transgressions...

You see it is just this kind of either/or mentality that prevents you from having many intelligent thoughts. Please show me where I have ever said I support Saddam Hussein.

She gave a tacit green light. Maybe she didnt mean to but she did.

and lol at the left/right bullshit....once you pin your flag to either of these ridiculous schools of thought then you can kiss goodbye to any original thinking.

GazzBut still believes that the various misinterpreters of a single UNICEF report - the misinterpreters who falsely claimed  this report showed the UN sanctions against Iraq resulted in half a million Iraqi children aged five or less dying (of unspecified causes) who would not have died had their been no UN sanctions - have not long ago been debunked.

He uses this belief to justify his preference that Saddam Hussein (or one of his sociopathic sons by now, perhaps) should still be running the show in Iraq.

At this point I do not think Gazzbut believes any of the stupid shit he posts.  He's been doing it for years, he's gotten bitch-slapped repeatedly about his lies and yet he persists prattling the same old discredited bilge.  He just doesn't give a fuck any more than Shins does.

Classic Pinky. Twisting around what other people have said to turn it into a means of defeating their position even though the conclusion reached is entirely wrong and has no basis in fact. Tiresome, predictable, tedious.

By the way Phred, lets say the unicef report can be discredited (not a proven fact by the way) What do you think would be the accurate figure? Or do you deny anybody died as a direct result of sanctions? Is there an acceptable number of dead children that makes the use of sanctions ok?
