something beautiful, something deadly?
    #14406550 - 05/05/11 06:03 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Habitat:
Pile of wood chips (probably Douglas fir) in 20+ year old clear cut replant.

Gills:
light brown, not attached, gills.

Stem:
4-7 inches in length, color is dirty brown with white fiber above brownish white annulus, below annulus is mostly white which turns brown when touched.

Cap:
sizes vary from the size of a 50cent piece to the size of a nickel,  orangeish red in color, texture-smooth, spherical, convex, with small white specks.

Spore print color:
no print

Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises- dirty brown.

Other information:
I know this might not interest some people but I'm bored and I think they are very pretty mushrooms. I suspect they are Galerina  Autumnalis.

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

Nasty little buggars too.  Those are much bigger than the ones I found here in Central Calif.  mine were extremely tiny, and not nearly as photogenic as those.

Nice pics.
