I went out to the forest a few days ago and on the drive back one is on my pants.  I come home sit down on my bed to take off my shoes, fucking tick on my sock.  So i take a shower and change.  Next day i see a tick on my bed and wash all my stuff.  Then i notice one on the back of my head, ripped that mother fucker off in like negative two seconds.  Reading this post has got me all paranoid, im still feeling around my head for anymore.  Lots more ticks than i remember in any previous years living in Illinois.

CHIGGERS! Oh the hatred i have for those evil bastards.  I have scars on my ankles and legs from a terrible incident years ago.  Its that itchy itchy itch that you just automatically scratch.

Poison ivy is just awesome too, im allergic as hell.  Got it on my dick last year, god oh god.  And everywhere else for that matter.  Wasn't able to use that itch stick on the lady for a week.  And i couldn't do the alternative as it would inadvertently itch it.

Getting sick of nature and shit dawg.  :awewtf:

I've noticed a surge of ticks in Illinois this year too. Been through the forest twice so far this year and have had to flick 19 ticks off my clothes and body. I've never been sucked by one, but last year, I only remember flicking a couple off my clothes the entire season.

I mean I hate ticks, but pulling them out doesnt hurt THAT fucking bad.  You guys are babies if your whining about the pain of pulling out a tick... wtf lol its fine...  pull it out and then set it aflame and watch it burst.

But yeah ticks suck.  I'm in the north east and ticks are EVERYWHERE its at least not this bad during the summer.  During the summer you might encouter 1 or 2 every so often, but now you'll go out to the woods for half an hour and come back with at least five.  Staying on paths and trails too... I don't understand.

I don't remember it every being this bad though.  For example last year, I remember finding like ten ticks on me the whole spring / summer season, but I've easily found that many on me so far this year.

They don't hurt when you pull em out.

What sucks is the fact you don't know they are there unless you find it, happen to notice or maybe scratch it. They can be there for days and you would never know.........  :tinfoil:  :paranoid:

if you dont want ticks, get guinea hens. had them for a few years, probably about 20-30 that had free roam of the area directly around my house all the way to the woods on an all sides. we suffered no ticks at all those years. the only dogs that got them were the ones who ventured farther than the guinea hens went.

we already have a shitload of bats and dragonflies populate 3-4 ponds that are less than 100 feet from my house so the mosquito population is pretty low too.

good advice, ticks suck! I havent necessarily seen a huge population explosion tho. Theyve always been a problem for people and pets alike for folks who live in the woods/country and enjoy themselves outside. You just gotta be careful, ya know after awhile you'll get sensitive to them, I feel them crawling on me and I almost always get them nowadays before they can stick there head inside me and suck my goodness out.

yeah same, after having spent so much time in the woods, you get really sensitive to them, its the subtle lil tickling of the hairs that give them away, its kind of subliminal in a way, cause you really dont feel them but you feel them. :cheer:

You won't hear me, But you'll feel me
Without warning, something's dawning, listen.
Then within your senses,
You'll know you're defenceless
How your heart beats, when you run for cover
Your cant retreat I spy like no other.

I went for a walk in the forest with my gf and dog like 2 weeks ago, soooo many fucking ticks.  Out of all my years camping ive noticed maybe like 2 ticks on me.  This year is insane.

During the walk we each had like 5 ticks latch onto us.  Before we got into the car, 2 or 3 more on each of us.  Did a thorough inspection before getting into the car, thought we were all good.  On the ride back, i pulled 2 off my neck, one off my jeans.

Went home thoroughly bathed my dog with some expensive tick shampoo and brushed him out.  And checked and rechecked him and ourselves.  Then my gf and i went in took a shower and changed clothes.  Well a few days later i see a fucking tick on my bed, than an hour later another and another.  I cant emphasize enough how thoroughly i checked my dog before letting him in the house after the walk.  So i check him again, i comb through and find four on him.

So i go to war: wash and brush my dog again,i wash my bed sheets twice, vacuum my bed, clean the shit out of everything around, quarantine my poor dog.  Even after doing all this shit i still find another tick on my bed 2 days later.  I Go to war again.... All is well for over a week... Just last night in bed i scratch my leg and one is latched on my fucking thigh!  I killed the fucker and thought, i dont even care anymore im going to sleep.  Of course i slept like shit, had like a psychotic thing going on with every little itch.

tltr- Ticks are in my fucking house, THEY MUST DIE :madhamster:

Yea dude, VA has been getting hit hard as hell these past years.

Literally we have tick warnings in our parks, because they are fucking everywhere. Just look at the tall pieces of grass along the trails, those fuckers are flailing their legs about trying to grab a hold. I literally have seen like 5 ticks on a single stalk of grass.
:feelsbadman:

:ugh: Last year I got bit, and found out by itching my waist (literally the lower belt area). It was so fucking nasty, it was near my dick. I flipped a shit.

I fucking hate ticks. I had a shitload in GA as a kid, but I hardly had anything to worry about there, Lyme disease is very rare there. When I lived there I had up to 11 ticks embedded after one hike(even after using 35% DEET), and never got sick.

This spring I've been hiking 3-4 times in the North Jersey area and I feel like a bag of assholes. Granted I have rheumatoid arthritis/fibromyalgia, but this pain and fatigue is different. Waking up is almost impossible, joints are swollen as hell, I'm nauseous, have a headache, getting weird hive like spots on my arms and legs, feel weak and fatigued... Like I said feel like shit warmed over.

Went to my doc and he thinks I have Lyme disease. I've had every symptom but a fever. I also live in one of the areas with the highest incidence of Lyme disease in the US, so he has good reason to be suspicious of Lyme. He put me on amoxicillin 3x a day for 3 weeks just to be safe, if the test comes back negative I'll quit taking the antibiotics. At this point, I just kinda hope it's Lyme because it can be killed off easily. At least that would let me know why I've been feeling to shitty lately.

Ticks fucking suck, evil little parasite carrying bastards.
