Got my card number stolen

So I get a call from the fraud department at my bank telling me that someone tried to charge 12 instances of Skype and $50 to some software company on my card today. Thing is, I never use my card online, and I always carry it on me or use cash. The only time I used it online recently was to buy the new map pack on xbox live a few days ago, so now I'm beginning to think that Micro$oft is going down the same route that Sony just did
It really fucking blows to have your number stolen, I hear about it from so many people, but never actually had it happen to me before. Now I want to strangle the cock knuckle who did it with his detached stump of a penis
Anyone else ever get their card number bamboozled before?

Thankfully no, but due to customs I don't get a fair number of packages that are sent to me (mostly legal seeds, illegal don't have a problem ), so It's not exactly ideal.

Thankfully no, but I was contacted by my bank once because I had used my debit card at an ATM that had been compromised by a device that steals card numbers and pins. They recommended I cancel the card and get a new one issued which I did and nothing bad happened.

Somebody could have rummaged through your garbage and stole your statement, or if you have any kids the little buggers could have made off with your info.

That's a possibility, some of my neighbors seem like the type that would do that. Guy at the bank told me that I shouldnt worry about it since the charges didnt clear yet, but it still pisses me off that someone would be so low to take my private info

The day I turned 18 I applied for a credit card to help out a cashier at K-mart ( one of my friends, needed apps for a bonus ) Ran my SSN and some Mexican dude popped up. For my 18th birthday I found out an illegal stole my identity.
Took 6 months to fix! Bastards!

Why are you so upset? The bank refunds you your money and you just get a new card.

I know, and I'm not upset about it after hearing the same thing from their fraud department. I'm more pissed at the fact that it was taken in the first place since I've never had it happen to me before.
It's along the same lines as if someone obviously broke into your place, but didnt steal anything. The fact that they compromised your security is like the shit icing on a turd cake.

I had the same thing happen. Fuckers bought a $200 subscription to asian porn, some chemicals, and some automated machinery shit. It was such a pain in the ass to change my CC number. I hope those assholes die in a fire.
