LSD and staying sharp

Is there anyone here who has been doing LSD for awhile and is still sharp with the mind? I love this drug but I know a few people who have abused it, which is making me wonder how often I should actually take it because they seem really spaced out when they stopped taking it regularly.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooope
Well, after 2-3 weeks after my last trip my mind starts speeding up. It gets better. Whenever I drop again the spaciness comes back with a vengeance.
I read an erowid report where this kid took 4-8 hits of acid every day for like eight months. He did a follow up report two years later and says he's gotten much better but is still recovering.
I didn't abuse acid at his magnitude, however I went through two vials last summer only having sold 10 hits, and I'd be lying if I said my mind wasn't affected by it. It doesn't interfere with my life though. Every day gets better.

I don't know. There are alot of people who have used acid and are still sharp. Then there are others who are really out of it. I am interested to see the responses.

Makes sense. Did you smoke a lot of weed while using LSD? I have a theory that if you smoke weed on LSD it greatly slows you down more. But it depends on how weed effects you. Weed makes me lazy and makes me drift off into space and think about random shit... Which is why I no longer smoke weed. But I have friends who actually enjoy working out while stoned, I don't get it.
I've taken a break since my last LSD binge. I think its important to spread out. I feel somewhat slower, but like you said, everyday it gets better. I also think watching T.V. doesn't help. I find that keeping my mind working helps. Such as sudoku, reading, and exercise.

Once, and it was because I was on probation. The experience was quite intense. Definitely altered the usual feeling of being stoned to a very heady level. I did take into account that my tolerance was super low but I knew seeing faint auras around trees wasn't a usual side effect of marijuana, at least for me.

It depends on the person I suppose, but my buddy who tripped 2/3 of the time smoked a lot of weed, it didn't seem to change anything. Mainly what I think gives you the acid burnout is not getting enough sleep. If you trip two to three times a week, or even just once a week, you will not get enough sleep unless you have something to put you to sleep ie pot or xanax. My friend was able to get a lot more rest than I was and he got more benefits.

Definitely. Acid is definitely not a psychedelic to be abused. I also remember a four month period where I was eating mushrooms twice a week, and I didn't feel nowhere near as burnt out as I did during Summer of Love '09. Acid is such an intense and long lasting experience that after extended use, the side effects, tracers, and even some acid-y thoughts starts to stick. Sounds corny, I know, almost propaganda-like. But I certainly wasn't putting babies in the microwave
Ever get perma-tracers?

I don't understand what this is supposed to mean.
You smoked a lot of weed while frying because you were on probation? LSD "altered the usual feel of being stoned to a heady level"? Uh... I bet it did, cuz you were on LSD.

For the most part, I feel fine with all the L I've done. I don't think most people can really notice what it's "doing" to them while they're going through their psychedelic heydey. For me it was a rite of passage, and I knew I might be fucking myself up a little bit in the process, but it was all about the experience and I knew at the end of the day everything was still gonna be cool.
I might be a little off sometimes. I'm not quite like anyone else I've met... but that's not a bad thing at all. Anyone who gets way into psychedelics kind of marches to the beat of their own drum anyway. Trippers are a special breed. A dying breed....
I make the most of it, and I'm pretty laid back with my views. I have a job that supports me just fine ... I'm able to pay all my bills, apartment... all that good stuff you do in life.
Most people would never guess I do psychedelics. It's all about what you want people to see.

I wasn't smoking weed at all during that time. I was on probation. There was one time where I smoked a bowl of chronic with my best friend in the middle of that fateful summer. It was more of an intense experience than usual, even though I knew my tolerance was low. I knew something was up when I was seeing faint auras around the trees, to say the least.
I don't understand what this is supposed to mean.

If you abuse any drug you'll more than likely be some sort of a burnout. Ultimately it depends on the individual and how they keep up. Usually those burnouts who aren't very sharp and spaced out who yo see today were never really sharp and where spaced out to begin with. My advice is to not abuse it in the first place, and have respect for it and yourself.

I agree somewhat. I personally used to think of myself as hardheaded and close minded. All I did was smoke pot and watch T.V. and sit around. I didn't really care about anything but getting high.
Then I met acid. It had made very open minded and has showed me that I have been dumb for not taking advantage of life. I'm now interested in learning and trying new things. I want to be smart, but smoking weed just gives me the worst memory. So I recently quit for that reason... and because of the paranoia...

That used to be me. Psyches really helped me. I didn't really care about much. Now I get what I could be wasting. This chance to experience anything, and everything. My mind works very different than those around me. Is it from tripping? Idk. But I wouldn't change it for the world. Because I already have it.

I reckon if you take it in moderation it shouldn't affect your brain too much but i think if you take large amounts every week for years your gonna end up fucked in the head... Psychidelics are teachers of wisdom therefore should be treated with respect and not abused!
