Perfect Requirements for Psilocybe Ovoideocystidiata can't find them anywhere!

I've done quite a bit of research on P. ovoidcystidiata and concluded that they should be rather abundant in my area. I've read that they grown in the woody debris in stream overflow areas and that they are common from April to mid June. I have a large stream that goes through my backyard and walking along it for hours brought me nothing. What I'm wondering now is if I have the right information or if I just need to look harder. While I was looking I did happen to stumble across a few different kinds of mushrooms growning off of a dead tree. They were small brown and one was a little orange, I might post pictures if I think I might have something, but as of right now I don't think I do. Thanks in advance.

Look harder. Many (if not most) people hunt for years, season after season, before they finally successfully find the mushroom they are looking for. I've been hunting mushrooms for over 35 years and have never found a single morel (I haven't actively been looking for them, but one should think I would have stumbled upon some by now). Go figure.

Yes it can take a long time to find a specific mushroom you want (unless you just get lucky). Took me two months before I FINALLY found my laughing gyms, it was amazing.
Keep looking, if you manage to find them, it will allll be worth it trust me.
Good Luck!

Holy Crapola!!! I should feel extremely lucky, this is my , 1st year hunting morels, well the season just ended last week here in nova. we found over 800 in 1 spot! even found some morels & a half the size of your hand awesome. now i have the shroomin fever, but because where i live i shouldn't get my hopes up for ovoids. There has been someone however in SW Va that found some ovoids. Its a shame because we have so many creeks that overflow around here. I just wish someone would find some even in MD just close at least. Good luck everyone I hope with this morel season, maybe it will be a promising year.
