Well the way I figure I will keep on my fanning schedule and only mist the sides of the FC as needed ans mist into the air above the cakes before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning. See what happens trying to get pics have to wait a lil longer...

No, mist the cakes and the perlite. Don't ist the tub and the air.

Ahhhh... This just reminded me of a question I have been meaning to ask:
In regards to missing a SGFC; can one simply mist the hell out of the perlite, via the 1/4" holes, for the sake of humidity?
It so; I had another thought:
In the spirit of mimicking nature... I thought of a heavy misting right before bedding down for the night; and then a real good long fanning, first thing in the morning?????

You can mist through the holes, but it's easier to open. In regards to the perlite, a heavy misting as needed is ideal, and tubs work the same way. Cakes are much smaller and may not have the capacity for it based on your evap rate. But you want to do the same thing on a smaller scale- let the cakes get a bit dry, then rewet them to capacity.
Misting the air above the tub just doesn't do the job.

Mist the cakes directly until they are full to capacity. No need for manual fanning with a shotgun FC, but you can if you wish.

Should have read more specifically as:
"heavy misting the cakes directly right before bedding down for the night"
My thoughts on misting the perlite through the holes for maintaining RH only... As something separate from the misting I would do directly to the cakes for hydration/evaporation purposes...
Thanks for taking time to answer these inquiries. It is very much appreciated

its not one or the other.
its both.
you spray water into your fruiting chamber to rehydrate everything.
if you get to the point where you can tell if your perlite is dry but your cakes arent. you can start doing things your own way.
for now, do it our way.

Thanks guys for all the advice... The other pins on my cakes aside from the fully mature micro mushie (can't wait to post pics) are growing bigger (fatter) and expanding I expect them to shoot for the light soon and quite a few other lil pins are coming now that I'm misting less 2-3x and fanning more 5-7x I mist the cakes when they look dry I fan when they look wet I saturate the perlite with mist every time I open my FC and things are lookin good... Here's to the first harvest may it supprise me in its large yeilds

Misting 8 times a day seems a bit much to me, but I live surrounded by water and fog so my humidity is naturally higher. So I really can't tell you anything, but after dunking I barely mist for a few days and gradually increase my misting up to 3 or 4 times a day as needed.
Pics would help you get a better answer though.
Hey I wish you success

I never said anything about misting 8 times a day that is ridiculous! I mist 3 times a day at most and fan about twice as much. Things look good I am excited that I made it this far and am doing this well for my first time diving into this hobby. I believe that, yes while I can probably do better, I am doing very well for myself and I will probably be enjoying the fruits of my labor very soon!
