first hunt (unexpected hunt actually)
    #14404891 - 05/05/11 11:48 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Hey there everyone! Last night i was at a friends house and noticed some mushrooms growing in their mothers garden. So curious as i am i decided to pick them to see if they are edible, and if so, active or not. After some research im still not really sure what they are. So i was wondering if you guys would like to help me figure out what species this is?

- Found in southwestern PA
- Growing in a garden where compost is laying in
- Spore print came out brown
- Some looked like and umbrella and some had the cap flaring upwards
- They aren't really all that big... brown, with dark brown to moderate      brown gills. The caps are about an inch to two and half inches max.

if anyone could help me out with this info that'd be great. if anymore information is needed i can gladly supply you with that!

Aww, come on! Not true. From the description Agrocybe is just a hot candidate. Pictures are ALWAYS a must for a sure ID.

Yea, I was just being a little dramatic. It can just be a little intimidating when TI's manage to come in with an ID so quickly though. I'm hoping to get to that point eventually.

Ask yourself this question, would you risk your life on an ID made based on the information you provided here?

I bet it is praecox...
