Your choice of picture illustrations always cracks me up, Todlow...
Here's a couple pics of the mini mono crew last night before it went I went to bed...

...and the one opened on the end was sporulating this morning, so that cap got pinned and placed in my sporing jar, plus two other similar...

I checked a few minutes ago, and they have laid down a nice thick carpet of deep purple spores on the print surface. they still have another 12 to go before removed...
And here's this mornings harvest - 12.3 wet. I laid a quarter in the middle for sizing...sorry, no lighter handy! Anyway, these are waaaayyyy bigger than my last batch. Nice fatties for the shafts, and thick, full heads on them... That's prob why they weighed in as much as they did, for just a handful...

Thanks Ironlion. I harvested over two days, and finished picking the last this morning, final tally was 24oz wet. Gave the mono a four hour soak and set it back up under the lights. Lots of 1/2" pins all around the edges. Should I have picked all them to 'de-pin' the mono before soaking, or did I do the right thing to leave them alone?

Some say that the aborts are more potent, others say that they are as potent as a normal grow. I tend to think of it as a young rattle snake that is more potent due to the fact that it has not injected any venom so it is a strong dose for the first bit. Maybe RR will chime in as there are alot of opinions. BTW, I've soak cakes that had unveiled caps for 4 hours, because the cakes were dry, (my fault), and they fruited just fine. Good Luck!

They say the sting of a young scorpion has much more effect on you than the sting from a larger mature one. I don't know, but I figure anything that can keep from dropping through the holes in my dehydrator is fair game...
I'm seeing new pins coming up in the center now, so the soak must have been liked.

Final report... [Re: Panama]

Well my first grow is done, everything is stored away and I'm having to take a break for now to re-gear for another type of grow. The mini mono was absolutely the best, with a total net of 98 grams dry. 2nd flush was immediate after the soak, it was done in seven days and doubled my total from the first flush. I'll be doing this again. These last pics are from the second flush, nice fruits, thick and meaty, very nice for the Golden Teacher strain, I think.
This cluster grew against the side, so it's kinda flat, but nice nonetheless...
I think these two would have made some nice prints...
So in conclusion, I'd like to THANK EVERYONE who offered advice and guidance to me these last six weeks and helped make my first grow a success. You all know who you are, and you are the greatest asset to this site.
I'll still be hanging up here, reading, and preparing for an entirely different grow now...
Cheers!

nice job man! I think I am going to try the mini-mono because you had such a success. Did you get fruit in the center with the second flush? And if you didn't any suggestions for me? Thanks for keeping this log to help us newb's out.

Did you notice if your GT's had hollow stems?

Thanks markinnewparis. I got more fruit in the center on the second flush, but still 90% on the sides...my fault, though, I let it get to dry initially, and I think that is what caused the side sprouting... Def try the mini mono. It is fairly easy, and gives awesome harvests. I did the micro tubs in a SGFC, and the mini mono, and there was no comparison as to the size and amount of fruiting bodies between the two. The mini mono ruled.

What he said. The stems are somewhat hollow, but not hollow like a straw - sort of 'spongy' inside. When dried the center pretty much evaporates and what you have left is the shell of the stem.
