LOL.
Yeah if it counts for anything I think he's alright. I mean he should post more content oriented threads, and less repeats of the same shit, but besides that I like his style.

perhaps coaster needs a "poster buddy", similar to a math tutor. Someone or a group of his loyal followers that pledge to follow him around and encourage him to perform better on his mod tests. They help him by making posts after him that swerve discussions back, possibly leaving hints in this messages as well, sending him pms, ect.
This group could have a list of tasks drawn up from the mods/admins for goals to try and achieve. This group could call themselves "The Mugs"
Anyways id like to see some examples as i don't follow him very closely. All i know is he posts alot of threads and poof he's gone for months at a time. Oh and he likes to post lot of pics of his volcano and talk about drugs all the time. I heard in this thread that his posts get out of control when he seems intoxicated or something along those lines so if thats what this is mainly about then maybe involving the shroomery members is the best way to deal with it as it would in theory take the load off mods without having to make a bunch of new mods. Maybe down the line "The Mugs" get privileges to edit/delete just coasters "newer" threads/posts, but of course all this hinges on people joining this group actually liking coaster to begin with. Eventually this could be turned into a massive online RPG game where coaster gets points for good behavior and gets to spend them on things, and "The Mugs" get points for when there interventions work and get to spend them on things.
Perhaps this very last part could be a system that works to, a points system where he has to earn points through his posts. Like he gets a "thumbs up" for a good post, and gets a point, which he gets to spend on making a thread or another post This way if he starts "messing up" he gets a thumbs down and then he gets curbed a bit. This might work best in conjunction with that group i was mentioning
sorry for all the edits i was making this all up and kept thinking of new idea's

I mean maybe banning coaster will be good for him. For fucks sake he was advocating that everyone should do meth on a couple of threads. Maybe he's alittle too obsessed with drugs considering he has 30,000 posts I feel like he could accomplish alot if he did something better then spend SO MUCH TIME on the shroomery

There's a journal on here. Just let him post there. The acolytes will post in his journal and leave everyone else alone.

While everyone here has the option to ignore the pages and pages of icons and emoticons, the general public who visits the site as guests do not. As such some of them are forced to scroll through a lot of meaningless and unintelligible emoticons and babble before finding what they came here for in the first place. I feel it takes the content quality down a notch..
also, while some of you might be able to ignore what is going on (and therefore most likely do not have a full idea of the scope of what we are talking about) some of us are charged with cleaning up, editing, and modifying those posts back within the rules. Its tedious, and when you do it for a single user, over and over and over and over again, it gets somewhat frustrating.
also, its is frustrating to see that all of the warnings, bans, and points that have been issued in the past, have not had any continuing long lasting effect. as the same things that were issues in the past; and were the result mod action in the past, continue to happen.

In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption" "People do it every day, they talk to themselves ... they see themselves as they'd like to be, they don't have the courage you have, to just run with it."

Wiccan_Seeker is right, thats a great idea. Coaster is too important too ban, yet too irritating to let run wild. Its a perfect compromise.

while i can agree that guests should have the easiest time finding what they're looking for... but what are they looking for in the pub?
did he get banned for something somewhere else? idk.
