Lets play start a flame war.
I consider myself a Christian, but I am by no means bloodthirsty.

i don't consider myself a christian, but i think jesus was one cool guy. of course jesus wasn't a christian, so.......

just teasing. jesus is about as great of an example of how a person should be there ever was, it's just that i think there have been many other's who've been just as enlightened.

He wasn't enlightened. He was God. Big difference. Guess I can't prove it though. Faith is kinda funny like that.

no flaming intended, I also consider myself a Christian. Notice I didn't say Christians were bloodthirsty. But I was referring to a certain group who indeed see nothing but Muslim blood.

On second thought, maybe there aren't any fundamentalist Christians at the Shroomery (what the hell was I thinking?!) but those people suck nonetheless.

Glad to see you clarify this. I actually feel worse about the deaths of these people because many (most) of them are muslims.

He himself claimed to be God.

Not if you accept the Hindu idea that we are ALL God(which I do). So yes, Jesus is God, and so am I, and so are you.

P.S.: This thread belongs in the S&P forum.

The majority of Christians on this earth oppose America's war against Iraq.

I don't know, I think if you're enlightened you recognize yourself as God in a true and complete way. Of course this is just my little theory. Whose to say it's right.

Christians should however realize that their ideas are just their little theories and whose to say they're right either.

My sister is a hardcore Christian. Whenever I get her in a tough spot in a debate, she'll tell me it's because she has faith and I don't. My idea of faith (which I do have) is the belief that everything will balance out and be OK in the end. Her idea of faith is to believe other people's ideas and not to question them.

Maybe this should be in S&P.

We will never agree on this because we have very different views. I believe there is only one God and only one way to reach him (or to be more accurate for him to reach you).

jesus said that he was the son. he never claimed to be the ONLY son though. he said that we were all part of God and God was a part of all of us. the teaching that jesus was the one and only son of God obscures what jesus himself was really trying to get across...

it was the church that came along and said, "jesus was the ONLY son of God, you are evil and He died for your sins. the only way to experience God is through the Chuch. repent and obey!"

I also believe there is only one God and that we are all one with Him, and therefore we all are Him.
